CHAPTER THREE

Lucian's POV "What is a woman doing here?" My nose scrunched up as I tried to make out the distinct smell from the other male ones I had been used to. I stopped in my tracks and looked around, then my eyes landed on her. Auburn has short hair, milky skin, and a very petite figure. She was dressed in the uniform and blended well with everyone, but I still deduced that she wasn't like us. "Why's no one saying anything? She's a f*****g female." My chest vibrated lowly with a growl. She had proceeded to the registration queue. She looked around as though she was searching for someone, and I realized that she was trying to see if anyone saw her. She stood as though she didn't want to move anymore, too careful as though she didn't want to be noticed. Why was no one saying… Oh, I was able to make out her real scent because I had the Alpha Lord's blood flowing through me. No form of deception could go unnoticed by me. She had masked her real scent with another one. It was a little bit strong, but not strong enough to conceal her real self from me. She should have been sniffed out from the gate if she hadn't concealed her scent. She really thought she was invisible to everyone? She bypassed protocols successfully and was shown her room in no time. She was meant to live in the midst of boys? Who the f**k is she and what exactly are her intentions here? "Get to work now," I ordered my shadow guard who didn't dare question me. I moved stealthily in the hallway, watching as she walked through the hallway with her eyes still searching everywhere. She couldn't see me. It felt like my entire body was biting me. Seeing a female in BlackWing Academy was awkward, and I needed to do something about it. While still walking, she made herself invisible and I watched as she calmed down from where I stood. She started walking normally in no time, completely relaxed. Well, no one could hide under the gaze of someone with an Alpha Lord's blood in them. I cornered her in the same hallway, but away from the peeking eyes of everyone else. Her eyes widened and she froze on the spot. Her face was as white as a sheet. She really thought no one saw her? I dragged her by the arm and backed her against the wall so I could have the upper hand. "Who are you, and what are you doing here in a school meant for only boys?" My voice was grave and directing, intending to be commanding. "Wh-who are you?" She stuttered back. "That doesn't matter. Don't think you can fool everyone, because you can't deceive me. Start talking now." I ordered her, and watched as the dumbfounded expression on her face came off. She shifted her shoulders, and her face suddenly went back to normal. "I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just like you, I'm not different from you." Even her voice had changed. Fake. "I'm not stupid. Why were you shocked when I first cornered you then? If you really think you're that invisible to anyone, then you're more dumb than I had thought. Who sent you here?" She swallowed thickly, still trying to keep up with the bold demeanor. I moved closer to her then I let out a bit of my aura. It made her choke a bit, but I just needed to use it to instill fear in her. "If you know what's best for you, leave now while it's still easy for you. Drop out of BlackWing Academy and walk out through those doors. You don't belong here." I ordered her. Fear flickered through her face, but it was gone as soon as it came, replaced with determination. She moved away from me a bit with her eyes hardened. She suddenly looked like she could take on any challenge I threw her way. Well, she looked interesting. "You don't know what you're saying. I'm just here to learn, why then should I leave?" She questioned me. "Spirogyra and Banana leaves." The moment I called those two names, her eyes widened by a fraction and she looked around us, checking to see if anyone had heard me. "You concealed your scent with those two herbs. You ground them together, right? I told you, you can never hide from me." I smirked. To think that I didn't even know her at all. I only made out the herbs because that was what covered her real scent. But I still knew she was hiding a whole lot. For a female to come to a school meant for boys alone, something had to have happened. "I'm not scared of you if that's what you're aiming for. Do whatever you want, but I'm only here to learn. It's not like you saw me harming anyone. I'm not dangerous." She said, her eyes wide. She looked into my eyes squarely with a new level of bravery. Who exactly is the girl before me? No one had been able to stand up to me, it had never happened before. They either run away because of the fire in my eyes, or my deadly aura. But she didn't just look into my eyes, she defied my aura. But beneath the bravery she gave off, I still saw those weak emotions in her eyes: fear and embarrassment. Maybe she was just acting up. "I have my eyes on you," I said, and finally left her alone. She looked brave, but still very frightened. I left with a tight jaw, and subtle anger coursed through me. For some reason, I was mad that she stood up to me, but I was still intrigued by her confidence. Crazy. As I walked away, I noticed another pair of eyes on me, and I looked sideways to see the calculating eyes of Marcus on me. "Marcus." His name rolled off my tongue with disgust. I didn't hate anyone like I hated Marcus. He was spiteful and evil. He hated me as much as I hated him and we've had a lot of fights in the past. He had never once been clean. He always played dirty, and that said a lot about who he was. While I was seen as the devil himself, Marcus was seen as just evil by everyone else. I was always above him. It was soon night, and my shadow guards used the entire day to gather enough information on the girl. They were bound to me by blood, and they didn't dare defy me. They couldn't even do it, their lives are sworn to me. And any form of betrayal meant instant death to them. But they couldn't be seen by everyone, they were at my service alone. Perks of having the Alpha Lord's blood flowing through me. "What have you gathered?" I asked him as he appeared before me. "She's the daughter of an Alpha who was slain by his brother and Beta. Her life means peace between the darker pack agreement, and her death means an inevitable war." She wasn't just an ordinary person. Or she was, but there were too many things at stake in her life. One single mistake, and she dies. That should explain why she looked so brave. And maybe, just maybe I could use her for something. She might actually be useful in my circle. I needed to get my greedy uncle off the throne after all. I was the rightful heir to the Alpha Lord, but he took that position under the guise of 'Lucian is too young to be Alpha Lord.' He had been saying that for years. He was the most greedy person I had ever met, even Marcus wasn't as greedy as that. I needed him off that throne. Maybe Indira would be useful. My shadow slave cleared his throat and I turned to look at him. "She's a ticking time bomb, and it's not advisable." He said, referring to what I had thought about in my head. With a flick of my hand, he exploded. I didn't need anyone to tell me what to do. I was sensible enough to know that. The moment he died, another one appeared. I could never be alone. "Clean up his mess," I ordered him. Normally, no slaves or maids were allowed in BlackWing Academy. But no one dared to challenge Lucian Wolfsberg. I did things my own way. "I don't take commands, I give them," I said as I wiped away the blood that had smeared my hand. I threw the napkin on the ground and walked into the darkness. "Let's go find my little mouse to play with."
