At the end of Eldon Street was a set of traffic lights controlling vehicle access to Moorgate itself, which crossed the top of Eldon Street to left and right. Lee and his pursuer closed rapidly on the intersection. Nick saw Lee reach the junction and turn left, towards the entrance to Moorgate tube station. He couldn’t be sure that the station was actually Lee’s destination though, so Nick hurried to the junction and, looking left, saw the back of Lee’s black raincoat again – probably only 15 paces away now.
