Chapter 2

Joan's POV:

I drove away from the building and finally reach my house. I enter into my small apartment, smelling the dust in my house. I really need to clean this place though. I look around and let out a deep sigh before crashing into my sofa. "Okay, let's see...." I look at the newspaper, seeing if there's any job vacancies and the only one was pizza delivery.

"Not my dream job, but it'll do for now." I get up from my sofa, started filling my applications and decided to go to this pizza delivery work.

I arrived at the workplace and saw new people and unfamiliar faces. Kinda reminds me back at kindergarten. "Hello, excuse me, how may I help you?" A woman came to me and asked. "Emm, ma'am, I'm here for the job vacancy." I said shyly.

"Oh, you've come to the right person. I'm the manager of this place." She starts examining me by looking at my appearance and other stuff. "You're hired, congratulations, you're work starts.....NOW." She hands me my uniform promptly. I just wished all job applications were like this.

I kinda had a rough time at work, people asking for massive orders, not leaving any tip even though I am very punctual. Anyway, as I drive by a large corporation, this really catches my attention.

I saw a few people wearing a lab coat and others wearing business suits and they were bringing something big, it's covered so I couldn't really see it. I don't know why but I just want to follow them, I know it's none of my business but still, what if it's something that affects me later. I dunno but I'll try my best to be quick. Maybe it's even my imagination.

So I went through the back door. Wasn't easy though I mean this people have tight security. As I walk aimlessly in the corporation, that's when I see what's really going on with these people.

I decided to stealthily hide in their laboratory in one of the big.... I dunno it was just big so I just hid beside it and I start listening to their conversation.

"Are you sure you got everything under control Mr Ferrell? We must not take any chances if we want this to work." I hear one of them speak to the other. "Don't worry, I checked the serum and it is fine, we'll soon enter phase two of the plan." The way he told him is really sinister and can't help but to the of the worst.

They both left the laboratory and at the worst possible moment, I hear my phone start to ring. I quickly hang up and turn off my phone and got out of my hiding spot. Then, I came face to face with the experiment. I wonder what these people are up to.

"Hey you!, what are you doing here?!" I hear someone someone shouting. This isn't good. I see one of the scientists signaling the security to take me away from there but I start to run and obviously they started chasing me. I manage to outsmart most of them, some became dizzy and some just became tired.
