Ryan sat in the hospital bed, his eyes fixed on the door through which Tally had just exited the room. She hadn’t even bothered to turn around when he had called her name, instead muttering “Asshole” under her breath as she left. If she was attempting to impress him or prove Ashley’s claims false, she was failing miserably and doing a piss-poor job. A wry smile tugged at one corner of his mouth. He didn’t know if she was playing a smart game or not. Just as he anticipated his wife’s return, the door swung open. But it wasn’t Tally standing there.
