MOVING OUT

It was a bright Saturday morning, Celine and Xenon were busy tending to the flowers, Alexa was trying to tidy up her wardrobe, everyone seemed to be busy with one thing or the other.
Then Xavier came into the house with a gleeful expression pasted on his face. "Hey I've got great news guys" he said with joy ringing in his voice. "What is it dad?" Alexa asked running out of her room. " Is everything alright my dear?" Celine walked in with some flowers in a basket with a puzzled look in her face, Xenon.. well Xenon was Xenon, she just stared at her father without saying a word .
"Can anyone guess what the good news is?" Xavier asked with a wide grin on his face. "umm we are going on a vacation to the Bahamas?" Alexa said with confusion on her face " nope, not that my love " Xavier chuckled softly while stroking her silky hair. " You got a new job?" Celine suggested, "even better dear" Xavier smiled wider. "How about you Xenon? Do you want to take a guess?" Xavier asked leaning towards Xenon. She just stared at him for a few seconds and said "no Father " in her usual hushed tone . "oh well....." he shrugged and straightened up . "Well, the good news is ..... I just got a new job at New York and also ..... We are moving out !" he said grinning from ear to ear. "What!" Celine and Alexa chorused in shock , Xenon's eyes just widened and then she was back to her emotionless self . "What do you mean 'what!'" Xavier asked with an awkward smile on his face. "We can't move out, this is our home dad" Alexa asked with worry and concern " yeah , Alexa is right honey, Sunnyside is our home, ain't I right Xenon ?" Celine asked turning towards Xenon who looked as if she was absentminded, " hmph" she just shrugged.
"I know you guys love it here at Sunnyside but this is really a big opportunity for us to live large in the city,and besides the new house is bigger than this one, and also ... My job is on the line here guys!" Xavier said with eagerness in his eyes, " Father is right " Xenon quietly chipped in. *Gasps*
Everyone turned to Xenon with their jaws dropping , "whaaa...." they all gasped, Xenon had just spoken without anyone telling her to , but still in her hushed voice though.
"See, even Xenon gets it " Xavier said pointing at Xenon who was now seated on a sofa tending to her hair . " Are you sure about this dad?" Alexa asked with worry in her eyes, " of course my dear , we would be living better in the city, I promise you. Infact you'll be joining a new cheerleading team at New York too, doesn't that sound fun?" Xavier said stroking Alexa's hair. "Wait did you just say new cheerleading team? Oh my goodness this is great, I've got to start packing right now !" Alexa screamed for joy and dashed to her room with speed .
" How about you Xenon , won't you start getting your stuff ready?" Celine asked. "Of course mother." Xenon said simply and quietly went into her room.
"I wonder what is always on her mind" Xavier pointed out ," oh well maybe a lot of stuff, I don't know, but I guess she's fine " Celine added with a kind smile.
" Life at the city would be amazing dear" , Xavier said giving Celine a big bear hug, "of course dear, you've never let me down "Celine responded.
"I can't believe we would be going to a new town , a new home !" Alexa squealed with excitement burning in her eyes as she sorted out her clothes from her wardrobe. Suddenly, Xenon entered the room, she took a long stare at Alexa who was now almost buried in a pile of clothes that she had made, the place was a mess.
" Well you know you could actually sort out your clothes without making here messy " Xenon said picking up some of the clothes from the floor. "Whatever Xenon, who cares about that anymore, I guess we would be having separate rooms in our new house, ahhhhhh, finally some space that I deserve" Alexa responded while putting some of the clothes in a big box. " Hmm" Xenon said in her usual hushed indifferent tone. She started to organize some of her belongings into a large box.
Downstairs........
Celine and Xavier were also busy putting some items into large boxes, "I called Ron, he said that he would be here 8 am sharp tomorrow" Xavier said turning towards his wife, "That would be awesome "she said simply......... Soon they were interrupted by the sound of Alexa screaming, " Mom! Dad!"
"What is it dear?" Xavier and Celine chorused. " Mom, Dad , are we going to have separate rooms ?" she asked fluttering her lashes, " well of course my dear " Xavier responded as Celine heaved a heavy sigh. "Yes!" Alexa screamed with excitement in her voice , " can you stop being so loud, you'll have high blood pressure before you are sixteen if you are not careful about the way you always scream your guts out at any form of excitement, it is really annoying, please stop", Xenon chipped into the conversation as she help her dad carry a box from the table. "Hey! That was rude" Alexa pointed out, "Well, my dear sister, it wasn't rude at all, it was just a correction so that you don't end up with a deadly illness before you are even sixteen, and , I won't say more than this " With this Xenon exited the living room and went into the kitchen to organize more items.
Alexa was visibly boiling with anger ,"calm down my dear, she means well I'm sure" , Celine said to break the awkward silence as she sat Alexa down on a nearby chair. "Well she should atleast be a little more nicer" Alexa blurted out in anger.
Soon , the day was coming to an end, most of their stuff were already neatly packed into some boxes , the next day they would be moving out to a new home in the city, life was going to get better.
