The black sky was replaced by a rough plain of ice streaked with red, like bloody lightning bolts. Or maybe those were just the tracks of previous creatures impacting the surface in long, skidding bloody trails.
From high above Europa the icy surface looked almost smooth despite the fractures. As the team of alien creatures towed the space cabin down toward the surface, it looked less and less smooth. Soon there wasn’t any ground that looked smooth. Lines and fractures covered the surface. Chaos features erupted upwards as high as 250 meters tall, maybe not mountains, but as the space cabin careened toward the ice, it looked plenty rough.
