Chapter 29
Nick blinked as a bright light came on and revealed the interior of the airlock. It wasn’t any larger than the airlock on his space cabin. He moved inside. It certainly looked like a more functional airlock than the one he had built. There were compartments in the walls, smooth and seamless, and there were live readouts displayed in holographic panels above the door. From the readouts, it was obvious that it was showing environmental conditions in the airlock. There was atmospheric pressure, and composition, all rendered in English.
Vibeke joined him just inside the airlock. She had to stand close to him to fit. With a grin, she reached out and pulled the lever. The outer door hissed satisfyingly shut without needing the ratcheting action that his had used.
