Train Me

Jade locked the door of the coffee shop after the last customer walked out. She made her way over to the large bay window and switched off the neon OPEN light that sat directly underneath the gold calligraphy on the window that read Amy’s Place. She suddenly got the feeling she was being watched. She scanned the street and spotted Kyle standing by his car, his hands in his pockets. When their eyes met, he gave her a small smile. Jade unlocked the door and stepped outside. She watched Kyle fidget in front of her. “Are you alone?” She whispered, looking around for any signs of her dad. Kyle nodded yes. “Jade I….I just came to say, I’m sorry…. About everything,” he said quietly. Jade looked him over, he looked awful. “Are you okay? You look like you haven’t slept.” Before Kyle could answer, Elijah stepped out and grasped her elbow, pulling her closer to him. “Who’s this?” Elijah asked, staring Kyle down. “It’s okay, It’s my brother,” Jade answered, giving Elijah’s hand a small pat. She leaned into Elijah’s ear, “Please keep Aidan inside, I don’t want him to see us.” Elijah nodded and went back inside. “Dad’s gone,” Kyle blurted out. “He hasn’t been home in two days… Mom’s actually been better.” “I’m not bringing Aidan back home if that’s why you're here. I’m glad mom’s better, but we both know that usually doesn’t last long,” Jade said firmly, folding her arms across her chest. “No, I just came to apologize… and to say goodbye,” Kyle said softly, searching Jade’s face before continuing. “Mom wants me to take her to her sister’s place in Arizona. She wants to get better. I going with her. I want a fresh start, and I want to help her get better.” “Okay,” Jade responded, trying to hide the hurt she felt that her mom was actually coherent and hadn’t reached out once to see if she or Aidan were okay. Jade’s heart clenched painfully as the realization settled in that even when her mother was coherent, she was still fine leaving without so much as a call to say goodbye. Jade had always hoped that if her mother got better, she’d finally want to be close. Kyle continued, “Xander told me he was going to look after you and Aidan. I’m sorry I didn’t protect you, Jade. I’m sorry I was so terrible to you. I wasn’t the older brother either of you deserved.” Tears fell down his face. Jade reached out and grasped one of his hands, giving it a squeeze. “Thank you for apologizing,” Jade said quietly. Kyle just nodded and wiped his tears on the sleeve of his shirt. “I don’t want mom or dad to know we’re with Xander. I think we all need a fresh start.” “I promise I won’t say anything, but Jade, I want you to know that you can call me if you ever need anything. I know I’ve been a s**t brother, but I want to be there for you and Aidan… If you ever need it,” Kyle said earnestly. “You too. Call if you ever need anything,” Jade gave him a small smile. Kyle surprised her by stepping forward and giving her a brief hug. She couldn’t remember ever hugging Kyle. She gently patted his back. “Bye, Jade,” Kyle said softly before pulling away. “Bye,” Jade responded, she watched him walk to his car before going back into the shop. When she stepped back in Elijah and Logan looked up at her, she gave them a forced smile before walking back behind the counter. She leaned against the wall and sank down to the ground, pulling her knees up to her chest. She was hidden between the wall and the glass display case of sandwiches and pastries. She closed her eyes as a wave of pain washed over her. She could hear Aidan laughing at Logan. She was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was to be around Elijah and Logan. They played with Aidan and even helped her clear tables. They’d told her a few embarrassing stories about each other and made Jade laugh a few times. Logan seemed shy, and she noticed that he wasn’t as tall or as built as the other massive men from the house. He was still built like a god compared to the average guy. Jade got a sense that Elijah was protective of Logan, like an older brother, even though the two of them were the same age. Around lunchtime, Jade had made them all sandwiches and cookies. They sat around a table eating together. This time around, Elijah didn’t ask her any intrusive questions. They talked a little about their favorite things and the conversation was easygoing. A large hand gently gripped her knee. she opened her eyes and looked into Elijah’s concerned baby blue ones. She gave him a soft smile, but it didn’t reach her eyes. Elijah sighed and sank down next to her on the floor. “You okay, kid?” He asked. “Yeah. I'm alright,” she responded softly. Elijah puts his arm around her shoulders. Jade stiffened for a moment, she wasn't used to anyone giving her affection or trying to comfort her when she was sad. “You want to talk about it?” Elijah asked softly. “Thanks. But, I’ll spare you the unfortunate story of the messed-up Pierce family,” she chuckled darkly. “Well, if you change your mind, I'd be happy to hear that story,” Elijah responded. “What’s wrong Jade?” Aidan came around the corner, followed by Logan. “Nothing, Sunshine,” she responded in her best cheery tone. Aidan didn’t seem to buy it. He crawled into her lap and wrapped his little arms around him. Logan came and sat on the other side of her. They just stayed like that for a while. Elijah started telling a story about when they first started training, but Jade cut him off. “What do you mean by training? Do you mean fighting?” Jade asked curiously. “Ummm yeah,” Elijah answered like he was unsure. “Can you train me?” Jade asked. She was feeling more and more unsettled about her father’s whereabouts being unknown. “Please,” she pleaded as she covered Aidan’s ears with her hands. “I want to be able to protect myself… and him she looked down at Aidan.” “Yeah, we’ll train you,” Logan answered. Elijah gave him a surprised look. Jade gave Logan a big smile, moving her hands away from Aidan’s ears. “Hey, don’t tell secrets!” Aidan complained. “Sorry,” Jade said, ruffling his hair. “Thank you,” Jade gave Logan a sideways hug. He placed his head on top of Jade’s. “Can we start today?” Jade asked excitedly. Logan chuckled. ……….. Max lost track of time while reading through every scrap of information the pack had on demonology. He felt panicked when he saw that it was 6 pm and he hadn't seen Jade come back. He made his way down to the main floor and saw Aidan asleep on the couch. He looked around for Jade. The only noise he could hear was coming from the gym. He pulled open the door and saw Jade leaning over with her hands on her knees. Logan was in front of her, his back to the door. Jade was in a sports bra and tight black pants, her jaw-dropping body was on full display. Her skin glistened with sweat and her full breasts were moving up and down hypnotically as she tried to catch her breath. “f**k,” Max swore under his breath. It took him a moment to regain his composure. He scanned the room and saw Elijah leaning against a wall watching Jade and Logan. “Good. This time I want you to come at me,” Logan instructed. Jade lunged forward and took Logan down surprisingly fast. Logan was on his back smiling up at Jade as she straddled him, panting. Max had seen enough. “What’s going on here?” Jade jumped off of Logan and scrambled to her feet. “You two are dismissed,” Max snapped at Logan and Elijah. They did as they were told. Before Elijah shut the door of the gym, he yelled back at Jade, “You did good, kid!” Jade smiled to herself and then turned her attention to Max. She’d never seen him look so angry. “Why didn’t you tell me you were back? And why are you wrestling with Logan?” Max snapped at her. A hurt looked across Jade’s face. “Don’t yell at me, Max,” she turned to walk away. Max grabbed her arm and turned her around. “Let me go.” Max exhaled and pulled Jade’s body into his. She pushed at his chest, but he didn’t let go. “Please don’t walk away from me,” Max said lowering his voice but keeping Jade trapped. Jade felt her traitor body relax into his arms, “I asked them to train me,” she answered in a clipped tone. Max released his hold on her so he could look into her eyes, “Why didn’t you tell me?” “I tried. I knocked several times and you didn’t answer. I placed a note under your office door telling you I was in the gym," Jade responded. “Damn. I’m sorry, Jade. I was really lost in something I was working on… I didn’t see the note.” “I forgive you. But, I want you to apologize to Elijah and Logan. You were rude and they were just helping me,” Jade said with a scowl. She looks f*****g cute when she’s mad Obsidian growled. I’m glad you're enjoying this because it’s your attitude that got us in trouble, Max responded. “Okay. I’ll apologize,” Max huffed. He mentally cringed at the s**t those boys were going to give him for this. “Thank you,” Jade said sweetly. “Alright, show me what you learned,” Max said in a seductive voice. He backed away a bit and stood with his hands behind his back. Jade did the move Logan taught her. Grabbing Max around the waist, placing one foot behind his, and throwing her weight into him to take him down. But, the next thing Jade knew, she was on the mat. Max was holding her in his arms. She didn’t even feel an impact. Max’s body was pressed into hers, but he was holding most of his weight up. Jade frowned at him. “Aww don’t give me that face,” Max chuckled. Jade squirmed underneath him, trying to wiggle away, but she ended up rubbing herself against him. She felt him harden against her, which gave her an idea. She pressed her hips up into his length and rolled them. Max stilled, breathing heavily. He leaned down and whispered in Jade’s ear. “Don’t start something you don’t want me to finish, love.” “Who said I don’t want you to finish?” Jade whispered back, trying her hardest to sound sexy. She arched her back, pressing her t**s into Max. “Mmmm f**k,” Max moaned. His hand traveled down her side to her hip. He gripped her hip to keep her from rocking against him. But, he was looking at her body like it was his last meal. Jade took the opportunity to wrap her leg around his and then she rolled until she was on top. She smiled at her victory. Max looked up at her in bewilderment, “Did you just seduce me so you could pin me down?” Jade bit her lip and nodded her head, smiling. Max blew out a loud breath, "You're one deadly little vixen." Jade could feel Max's erection as she straddled him and she was equal parts excited and nervous. She never had the desire to kiss anyone the way she wanted to kiss Max at that moment. She blushed but didn’t break eye contact as she started to lean down, giving Max a full view of her cleavage. Before she got any closer, Max took control and rolled their bodies so he was once again on top. Every part of him, including his horny wolf, wanted to tear Jade's clothes off and take her against the mat. He took a mental picture of how beautiful Jade looked all flushed and breathing hard. Kiss her Obsidian demanded. Her first kiss isn't going to be on gym mats, Max responded mentally rolling his eyes at his eager wolf. Max stood up and held his hand out to Jade. He helped her up and threw his arm around her shoulder, “Come on, I want to take you and Aidan on a date.”
