All’s well that ends well, as they say. Raymond has just turned 18, and I’ve made him the curator of the McClarence Archaeology Museum, a museum constructed in Randy’s name (‘cause he too has contributed a lot to the world of Artifacts, History & Discovery) that now sits on Randy’s land where his ranch used to be. We couldn’t save the ranch from being torn down, but we DID managed to stop the bad guys from claiming the area. Raymond deserves his new position, ‘cause the museum was entirely HIS idea and was courageous and quick-thinking enough to save my life that day. I’m getting along quite well with his siblings and his grandfather. Melvin treats me as a member of the family and all four of the kids call me “Chief” (not “grandma” or anything. That’d be awkward). I remember two years back when William and Susan were arrested, Malachi at first felt rather uncomfortable about having me as his new guardian. At first, I wasn’t sure if it’s because he couldn’t really accept the idea of 2 people of the same gender taking care of him and his siblings together, or if it’s because I’m a TOTAL STRANGER to him that he has only heard of through Randy and seen me through pictures of me at his ranch. Well, I’m happy to say that from the way him and I are getting on after the first few awkward months, it’s probably the LATTER reason. His religion may not be known in the media as an openly LGBT-accepting religion, but we all know the media can twist and turn the truth so that we see things from only a certain perspective. Oh-so-American, I guess. Well, anyway, back to the present, the children have all grown up a bit. The boys now both have their own jobs and the girls are still in school. Melvin is still as fit and healthy as when I first met him. Maybe it’s his 100% vegan diet. Whatever it is, at least I don’t have to worry about hiring a 2nd guardian anytime soon if Melvin’s health deteriorates! Hahahaha! P.S: Raymond had his first can of beer today, legally, at the Museum’s Opening Day. He said he sure misses his parents (understandably), but he doesn’t miss their nagging at all. Haha, Raymond. You are an adult now so I’m not gonna nag at you. But I do hope you will watch your drinking limits as I don’t want you to end up like good ol’ Randy when he’s drunk! :) “Chief” O’Malley.
