The new year’s here. And many parents be preparin’ to send their kids off to school. Well I don’t have any kids so that’s the least of me concern. They say the start of a new year be the perfect time to start writin’ down your new year resolutions to improve yourself and your life and all that. I don’t really need to improve anywhere in my life now, do I? I’m just a simple old man here living alone in the hot, hot, plain rocky red desert of Arizona. I have everything I need: food, clothing, shelter from a roof over my head, ranch utilities, animal feed, plant feed, water, electricity, sunlight, oxygen, and even the INTERNET for Lord’s sakes! I have everything I need to live peacefully for the rest of my life. I have money, I have savings and I have worked a good job. I’m satisfied, basically. Life’s been alright. Just fine.
Who knows when the Lord will take me back, if there is a Lord. But I’ve got no obligations or regrets left so I guess that’s the least of my concerns, too.
