After Chris called Amelia and confirmed she and the kids were okay he turned to his father, "Why are you even here?"
Henry looked away and coughed, "I was just curious, is all."
Chris with narrowed eyes spat, "If you make Amelia hate me, I'll let Mother know my misery is all your fault."
"What are you even saying? I didn't do anything! How dare you use your mother to threaten me! I raised you! I just wanted to get to know the little girl more..."
Henry trailed off, he had always wanted a baby girl but after Theodore was born, Helena's health went into decline and they couldn't try for another. When he saw Jenny, he wanted to dote on her as if she was his own. He sighed.
"I'm going home," he grumbled and shut the door in Chris' face.
Chris turned and left for his car. He was going to call the police commissioner and ask for a favor. The f*ckers messed with the wrong family; he was going to make sure their stay at the station was “comfortable”.

Amelia was about to leave after attending to DS’s wounds but DS pulled her into bed and had her sit down. He disappeared into the bathroom and brought back a basin of warm water. Kneeling, he gently brought Amelia's feet into the water.
Amelia was embarrassed, “Ah! I can clean it myself!”
“It’s hard to see the soles of your feet. Let me clean it for you,” he insisted.
Amelia sat still, despite the numbing pain in her feet and the ticklish feeling in her heart. After he dried her feet, he gently applied medication and bandage.
"You should try to stay off your feet the next few days. With Mary gone, I can learn to help more around the house," he said softly.
Amelia sighed, "But you're hurt yourself. You should rest. My feet aren't that injured, if I walk slowly I can manage."
Neither wanted to back down so they both agreed to take it easy. Amelia thanked DS and left his room to check on her children. They were both asleep on the couch so she placed a light cover over them and went to prepare a meal.
DS now fully dressed, slipped into the kitchen and looked around; seeing the small pile of vegetables by the sink he quietly got to work on them. Amelia watched him wash and prepare the vegetables out of the corner of her eye. She smiled, finally, after all these years, DS is starting to become more reliable with housework.

At the Roger mansion, Gloria was humming in sheer glee, her hitman had called earlier letting her know his crew stationed around Amelia’s house saw the kids come out of the house. She immediately gave the green light to stage the kidnapping. She was so happy she decided to go out and celebrate.
She turned and looked at herself in the floor-to-ceiling mirror. Despite the years, her figure remained perfect; no one could tell she had two pregnancies. She took a bottle of perfume and dabbed a little on her delicate long neck, the top of her perky mounds, and lastly on her soft inner thighs. She slipped into a figure-hugging dress that was borderline seductive and twirled in front of the mirror. As she was putting on the final touches the door opened and a heavyset man dressed in only a bathroom robe entered.
“Where are you going dressed like that?” He spoke coldly.
Gloria whipped around and saw her husband glaring at her from behind. She tucked a loose strand behind her ear and strutted towards him like a model on the runway. In a coquettish voice, she whined, “Oh honey! Couldn’t you pretend you never saw me? You ruined my surprise for you!”
Kristoff grunted but visibly relaxed. Gloria sneered in her mind, the man had let himself go, he once was a dashing young man with a royal pedigree and a mass of wealth that could last several lifetimes— but now, all he had left was just his name and wealth. Age had done a number on him; with all the drinking, gluttony, and long nights of debauchery, his body had morphed into a flabby sack. His goods beneath hung limply and took forever to rise. Gloria was careful not to mention anything as it had become a sore topic for him.
Kristoff walked out of her dressing room and sat down on her bed. He spread his legs and beckoned her over. Gloria put on a soft smile despite the rising disgust and glided over to kneel between his thighs. She resolved to handle the man quickly so she could slip out of the house to meet up with her paramour. She looked into Kristoff’s eyes like a succubus and got to work.
She didn’t have time to bother with her incessantly vibrating phone. Little did she know, what she missed would come back to haunt her.

Dustin stood in front of Amelia’s humble townhouse on a bustling Saturday. He wanted a break from the chaos at the office so he boarded his private jet once more and made his way over to see Amelia and his kids. Although he had threatened to come with a lawyer, he didn’t want one here to ruin the mood. After the last fiasco of an encounter, he realized he had to change tactics to smooth things over with her and bring her willingly back into his arms. He walked up to the door and rang the doorbell.
After a couple of minutes, he heard a shuffle behind the door and it opened to reveal a handsome-looking Asian. Dustin didn’t pay him much attention at their initial meeting so he mistook him for a butler, “I want to speak with, Amelia.”
DS was about to close the door in his face but remembered the kids. If Dustin kept ringing the doorbell he would disturb their sleep.
“She’s not interested in talking to you. Go away.” DS moved to close the door but Dustin jammed his foot in the door and laced his fingers around the side of the door leaning back to pull the door open.
DS looked down at Dustin’s Testoni dress shoes and sneered, “Move before I break the bones in your fingers and feet.”
Dustin grunted as he pulled with all his might. How is this yellow man so f*cking strong!?
As both men manhandled the poor door, Amelia came around the corner, her voice soft, “Who’s at the door?”
DS stopped pulling and Dustin lost his balance. He stumbled but quickly collected himself.
“Amelia, let’s talk.”
Amelia sighed in frustration and then eyed Dustin warily, it was suspicious that her children were almost kidnapped then Dustin shows up at her door. She exchanged a glance with DS then nodded. DS snorted and walked back into the house, “I’ll watch the kids. If he bothers you, scream and I’ll kill him.”
Amelia waited until she could no longer hear DS’s footsteps before she spoke, “Why are you here?”
Dustin didn’t expect a warm welcome but he also didn’t expect to be kept standing outside. He cleared his throat, “Can I come in?”
“No,” Amelia replied sharply, “I don’t have all day. I am cooking the children’s lunch so make it snappy.”
Dustin peered behind her, “Where are the children?”
Amelia narrowed her eyes, was he checking to finish the job?!
“They are sleeping. They are exhausted from almost getting kidnapped this morning. Tell me the truth, were you the one that tried to kidnap them!?”
Dustin’s eyes grew large, “Kidnap!? Bring the kids out now! It’s apparent they aren’t safe with you!!”
Dustin stormed the door knocking Amelia to the ground. She landed with a grunt. Before she could react two little blurs whipped by her.
