As Sawyer filled the vase and then emptied it again and again, I told Ms. Nicholas about the brochure and who had been chairperson of the tour that year and said that we now needed to explore how this affected the case. I didn’t say more about the specifics because of the toddler’s presence, but I figured she’d understand. “I see. Shall I pull our Garden Club file as well?” she asked with a smile. I grinned. “Of course you have a Garden Club file. I should have known. Yes, please,” I said and moved toward the sink to take over supervising.
