Chapter 57: Transmutation “Intoxicated with madness, I'm in love with my sadness” —Sylvia Plath. His lips that are chapped and dry now turn into a healthy shade of rose. His cheeks still have some degree of warmth in them, but it’s slowly becoming less and less. His face goes from pale to a healthy flush, then slowly descending to vampiric pale. His damp hair turns slick, the sweat slowly dissipating. His muscles begin to fill out. Gone is the shrunken flesh, replaced by replenished meat. He’s going from one scrawny yet still pretty child, to a complete real-life porcelain doll. The boy looks too close to looking like a vampire, but I make sure to stop the blood transfusion before he completely turns into one. I retrieve my wrist halfway and let him heal himself.
