I wait for him to make another move, but he retracts his fists. No longer sensing any danger, my vision reverts back to its normal state.
Back in real time, Theo appears stunned, looking at his own fists as if he can ’ t believe
“ What the heck was that? ” Theo spats.
“ Whatever do you mean? ” I ask back, playing dumb.
“ I saw something . . . Your eyes turn red, and then you moved at lightning speed. How was that possible? ” He creases his eyebrows, eyes staring in disbelief.
“ But don ’ t we all? ”
“ Indeed. But not like how you did. You had complete control over your speed. That ’ s impressive. You sure you ’ ve never done this before? ”
