Sydney sat down at the table with her best friend, Jessie. “It’s been too long, my friend.”
“We’ve both been so busy, it’s crazy,” Jessie said.
“I know I have. Every weekend has been booked for the past six weeks. I’m thrilled, of course.”
Jessie grinned. “And of course, living with Jax has added to it all. How’s it going? Must be an adjustment, living with someone.”
“It’s…good.” Sydney giggled. “A big change to being independent, but I like it so far. I do most of the cooking during the week because I work from home. And weekends we’ve had Bea there for the clients, so I get a break there. He says he’ll cook on the weekends when we don’t need Bea. He lived long enough on his own that he can run a mean vacuum and use a feather duster.”
