Chloe sat on Wenner’s gate watching Talon soaring overhead. Chelsea was in the Centre attending to the few animals left on site. With the police no closer to knowing what happened to Wenner, Chloe was concerned about Chelsea working alone at the Centre, and she often watched over her without her sister having knowledge of her presence. Talon flew down and landed on a fence post. He stared at her, tilting his head from side to side. “Hey there, buddy. Hunting for the family?”
The raptor sat with his head down and his feathers smooth, indicating to Chloe that he wasn’t in an aggressive mood but quite relaxed with her.
“You’ve seen me several times now. Guess you know I’m keeping an eye on my sister. I’ve watched you sitting in the tree looking down over the cottage, too.
