39 The next morning the doctor came in to see Sydney. He decided to keep her in one more day. Her headache was still strong and he wanted to do an MRI. But she was ready to be moved out of ICU to a ward. “How's my Nan?” The doctor gave her a big smile. “She's awake this morning. Luckily, when the ankle snapped she didn't do any more damage than the previous break. She'll probably take a little longer to heal this time around, but rehab will get her up and walking again.” The nurse came for her with a wheel chair after breakfast. She wheeled her down the hall and into the elevator. They travelled up a couple of floors and started down a busy hallway. “I'm going to miss the quiet of ICU and a private room,” Chelsea said. The nurse chuckled. “Oh, I think you'll like the ward better.” T
