40 The nurse opened the ward door and Jessie came in. “I leave you two alone for a few days and look at you. You just can't stay out of trouble.” Sydney stood and the two friends embraced. Jessie went to Elizabeth, bent down and kissed her. She turned to Elizabeth's daughter. “And you must be Chelsea. It's so nice to meet you. “Hello.” Chelsea appeared shy and a little flustered. “Jessie is my closest friend in Stoney Creek. She's a nurse. The doctors discharged all three women that morning.
