Chelsea wandered through Kelowna’s Waterfront Park. She had an appointment with Dr. Sauvé in an hour. The walk along the water’s edge of Okanagan Lake on this beautiful day had a beckoning appeal. She sauntered along the boardwalk until she reached an ice cream parlour. It was mid-August and very hot. Ice cream seemed appropriate. She stopped in to see what flavours they offered. A variety of ice cream and waffle cones made on-site had her drooling. Chelsea chose a double-scoop caramel chocolate chip concoction and paid the exorbitant price the clerk asked for. She found a table and sat, watching the passersby. I haven’t had a cone since I was a teenager. Another forgotten passion I can now enjoy. Chelsea laughed aloud. Every bit worth the cost.
