Sterling shows me around the kitchen, teaching me how various things work. Now I can make myself a cup of hot tea, or warm up leftovers from the chilled box that Sterling calls a fridge. But for dinner, Sterling insists on making everything from scratch. I help him, picking leaves off of fresh herbs and tossing them into the metal bowl he’s working with.
