Olivia woke up, she look around the unfamiliar room and tried to recollect where she was and how she got in here. He had brought her to his flat. she looked around the room. it was small and really neat. he had everything in order. there was a huge size bed in the corner with a clean flowery sheets. a flat screen TV hung on the wall with long speaker standing on the floor beside it.
He had made her a cup of coffee when he brought her to his home last night and had immediately fallen asleep afterwards. she was alone. it didn't look like he had slept in the room. the other side of the bed was smooth and properly tucked in. she spotted her phone on the table and grabbed it. it was pass 8 in the morning and it was a Wednesday. she didn't hear any movement in the flat which mean Jason must have left for work. she dialed her friend's number. " sup Steph, where are you?" "on my way to work" " I can't make it to work today, not sure of tomorrow either. my flat was burgled last night.". " oh my God!, are you hurt? are you in the hospital? her friend screamed. Oli wondered if she in the the office. " I'm coming there right now" " No, I'm not in the hospital, I called Jason and he picked me up last night." Jason walked in while she was talking on phone and watch her from the other side of the room. she wiped her eyes as tears began to pool.
" Bless him, let me speak to him" she passed her phone to him. he caressed her cheek, wiping away the tears , before he took the phone. he left the room taking the phone with him. 'Hi", he said returning with a tray of toast bread, eggs and a cup of tea. he put the tray down on the cabinet and gave her back her phone. Then he sat beside her and hugged her. " Do you feel better?" All she could manage to do was a nod. " I made breakfast for you, hope you'll like it?.
" Thank you so much" she finally managed to say. " I can't believe you drove all that distance at that time of the night." " it was nothing. I was worried. I was afraid something must have happened to you" their eyes met and they held each other's gazes.
She looked at the tray of food in front of her. " I am not sure I can eat anything now. I keep thinking of all the blood on the floor."
" I'm sure the guard will be fine, he only needs some few stitches." " I pray he survives, he's got a pregnant wife" " He'll be fine. how about a cup of coffee?" " thank you so much Jason, ain't you working today, I'm sorry for being a burden." " it's ok, you can stay for a while if you like. he smiled. then left with the tray of food to get her a cup of coffee.
she had spent three days at Jason's house and she had gained so much weight because he doesn't allow her to do anything but lie down and eat while he took care of her. she looked around the house properly and was impressed. he had told her that he personally hand picked all the furnitures in the house and decorated it. each wall in the flat was a different shade of brown and there were hand painted patterns on the walls that brought the whole flat to life. she was impressed by his tastes of music as she browsed through his CD collections. it was nearly midnight, she had done some readings, watched TV but couldn't fall asleep. so got up to search for Jason because it's obvious that he has been avoiding her. after searching for him in the house without any luck she went to the kitchen for a glass of water and she heard some noise coming from the garage. she peeped through the small opening of the kitchen door to the garage and there he is working on a vehicle. she looked as he he picked up something from the tool box that laid beside him. he looks adorable. a knot tightened in her stomach. it was the most sexy, unassuming act she had ever seen. he was shirtless, his torso completely bare. his hard tonned arms rippled with strong muscles. He seem to love what he was doing because he didn't seem like he had any plans to pack up for the night.
Or maybe he was avoiding her, he had made his point of being a gentleman, not one controlled by his basic needs.but the way he was avoiding her made the tension more. what was she doing standing behind a door spying on a mechanic doing his job? she had never seen anything sexier and intriguing in her life before. All of this will be mine only if I want it. she thought..
Jason has been avoiding Olivia clearly. he doesn't want her feeling uncomfortable than she already was. Everytime he needed something in his room he'll wait till she is asleep and then, sneak in like a thief.but then he will get caught up staring at her while she slept. he was tempted to hold her. he loved her carefree sleep like a child. he decided to occupy himself with work to get her out of his mind. there was no rush with the car he was fixing but he needed to keep his hands busy, to keep his mind off what he could be doing with Olivia if he weren't working. he lifted his head up and he saw her head peeping at him from the kitchen. he was shocked she was awake and standing there. he smiled at her uncomfortably as she stood there, studying him as if she could read his dirty mind. he walked up to her and pulled her friend behind the door.
" is there something you need?"
" I couldn't sleep"
" perhaps, some tea would help. I've got..." he started heading back to the kitchen.
" I'm fine Jason, really. what are you fixing, gearbox?"
" Are you sure you're ok?" he asked ignoring her question. she nodded. he wasn't in the mood to enter into discussion about his work. she had already made it perfectly clear how she felt about it. he led her to the living room and turned on the TV. they sat together on the couch and talked about the guard that was hospitalized and she started crying feeling guilty for not checking up on him and if he was going to be alright. he moved closer and held her to him. " he is going to be fine". He spent the next few minutes sitting beside her as she sobbed and wiping her tears. " sorry I got all emotional. is just that I was way older when I lost my dad I remember how rough it was, so how could it be for an unborn child."
" yes. it's always tough. I felt the same. truncated plans, dreams...."
" tell me about it. was that why...? He turned to her, trying to figure out what she was saying. " was that why you became a mechanic?"
" well...? There she goes again.
" you don't want to talk about it, I get it. I'll be going home tomorrow". she said
" so soon, are you sure you can handle it?" she nodded.
" I need to check on the guard in the hospital and prepare for work next week Goodnight." he got up with her. " good night" he wispered, thinking how awkward kissing her on the cheek might be.
Just before she went into the room, she turned to him hesitantly. she wanted to say something. she was wearing her signature smile
" you know" she said looking guilty, and he couldn't wait for what was coming, " you don't have to sleep on the sofa. it's a big bed. I trust myself, I won't roll over you"
He pulled her to him for a hug and kisses her head, wispering," I don't trust myself, Olivia." she nodded. He could sense that she was disappointed.
" I wish you didn't have to leave tomorrow, I've got so use to having you around"
"' I have to go back home at some point, don't I?" she stood on her toes and kissed him on the cheek. " thank you".
