After the announcement from my mother, which caught everyone by surprise, I struggled to remain calm despite the hurt I felt inside.
It was a known fact that Isabella and I were betrothed to get married, but never would I imagine it to be so soon.
"How could she decide about my wedding without discussing it with me first," I thought to myself. The decision to get married to Isabella was rather too sudden, and there must be a reason for that.
Knowing my mother, she was always the type to do whatever she pleases, and I can't be sure of what she was up to this time but one thing is certain, "there is no smoke without a fire."
