Ameerah woke up to the smell of fresh flowers. She looked around taking her surroundings in. It was a cottage, events of last night came in rushing. They left the place with a great speed, the tribal men couldn't match up to the speed of their horse. Even though the horse looked pretty and adorable because of its white skin, she was stunned by his speed and strength. After two hours of riding, they finally found a cottage, something which was Ezekiel's doing, but she wouldn't know until she knows him. She fell asleep as soon as her back touched the sheets of the bed. She was very tired to check or doubt the safety of the place.
She looked around, walking and taking the scenery in, the cottage was small yet efficient and well managed, like new but had everything needed. It was like placed there to help her stay for a night. She walked at the back of the cottage first when she found the lobby, and was surprised to see a the backdoor lead to a bridge like structure, ending up in the water of the river. So close to nature, she loved the place. The place was surrounded by thick evergreen forests. Only a single cottage in the mid of the stop clearing, a river passing by.
She without thinking undressed herself and went in the water. She had always loved water and bathing. It soothed her. When she's a baby, abandoned by her real family, she's found by the tribesmen floating in the river. They took her in and she was raised by one of the elder of the tribe. Even though she's loved and cared but things changed when she grew up and was twelve, leaving her the only choice, which was to runaway.
Ezekiel entered the house with meat he hunted, but hearing footsteps, he knew she was awake. He saw her moving towards the back. He followed her quietly but stopped when he noticed her actions of undressing herself. He turned away and left the cottage without wasting any time.
After the nice bath, Ameerah walked up towards the kitchen, and started preparing some food, she's not surprised to find the meat and other accessories, something in her told her that he had got all of it covered. She's still curious to why she hasn't seen him since she woke up. After cooking, she ate quietly in silence and before wandering in the cottage. It had two rooms who's door opened in the hall, a kitchen in the corner. The bedrooms had the small bathrooms attached to them. It also had a small store. The hall had the furniture needed, not much but enough, giving it a good open space.
She walked out and saw the field, it had so many wildflowers around the cottage but further ahead, the clearing wasn't bald. It was covered with blue flowers. She was unknown to its name or species.
"I call them 'forget me not' but they have name which is myosotis" Ezekiel's soft voice came in her ears. She looked up and found him walking in the middle of the forest. "I didn't notice these yesterday night, it's like they just came out today morning" Ameera said, looking into his fascinating eyes. She gave him a small smile and talked again when she just got a gaze of interest from him, "May I have the honour to know your name, my lord?" To which he replied, "The name is Ezekiel, may I have yours in return" even though he already knew her name, when the people chasing her called her. But he wanted to listen it from her, "What if you're dangerous? And sell me off! I shouldn't give you my information" hearing her words Ezekiel just smiled and said, "I'm dangerous, but not for you, unless you harm me which you can't yet" she raised her eyebrows at him and said slowing blinking, "Ameerah".
"Ameerah" her name rolled off his lips, something felt in her stomach, on listening to it, warmth, or tingles. Brushing off the feeling, she smiled and said, "I have cooked, you may eat!"
Ezekiel nodded, and made his way towards the cottage, following her.
He ate in silence while she cleaned up. He would casually look up from his plate and observe her when she's not looking, observing her movements, and the way she would put of her hair at the back of her ear when they moved to her face, like playing with her. She would take her time, easily handling the utensils and keeping them at place. When she saw his empty glass, she came and filled it for her. Her manners were not of a simple village w**********l but more of a mistress of a house, who knew well in every aspects. This side of her was new to him, he has always seen her wild with a dagger, voicing her thoughts or naked in water. Images came rushing and he quickly brushed his thoughts away, coughing. He stood up and put his plate in the sink. He washed up and went in the hall, where she was sitting on the couch.
"So what's the story ? Why are you a runaway and whom are you running from?" Ezekiel said as soon as he stood infront of her. "Interogating, are we ?" Ezekiel sighed and raised an eyebrow. "Fine, long story short, I'm a runaway, they wanted to sacrifice me for this god, um some son of mother nature, and i dont want to die when I dont even believe in Gods, so I said no and that p*****t of a man, the head's son, wanted me as his bride and I dont like him, both were death to me so I ran away, it's been 5 years since I'm running away and well it just doesn't work, they always I dont know how get the clues and come for me, they just dont give up, they think, the god will bring disaster on them if I am not sacrificed" she said rolling her eyes and breathing out from her mouth. Son of mother nature, that's similar to me. Is it because of me ? But I dont ever said I need sacrifices, or ever commanded, is this a practice among my followers. He looked at her and said "They'll never find you till you're here, stay peacefully."
Ezekiel, where are you? Helius' sudden voice of fear and eagerness ranged in his ears, he looked towards Ameera and said "I'll return soon! Stay here, if food runs out, go hunting, I'm leaving Majestic, the horse here. Dont leave the forest, or you may get caught!"
Ameerah stood up and looked at him in confusion and said "okay but will you come back? When? How will I live alone here?" Ameerah stopped abruptly on think what she said, she's always lived alone, why did she say that? She looked at him, into his ocean like eyes, Ezekiel came near her and stood just an inch away, "soon!" And with that he turned and left. Leaving her standing there, like a sunflower looking at the sun set.
Soon the word sounded in her mind as she looked at the moon shining in night sky that day. Soon she repeated three months later walking on the field, "did he forgot about me, 'forget me nots' ?"
But slowly her wait was turning into disappointment. She was thankful to him for providing her with the place to live and peace. She had a dying hope that he'll return but after all it was a dying hope. She had once in those three months left the forest and entered the village, to buy seeds of wheat and a booklet to learn farming. She's sowed those seeds and now was looking forward for the harvest. Waiting for the gone, and laying with the found.
She would always dream of either getting found by those people or him coming back, but both were negative when she woke up into the serene atmosphere.
She kept herself busy in the day but as the moon shone, she would remember him, memories entering her mind as the moonlight entered her room through the window. Hurt and disappointment clutching her as the cold wind touched her skin. She's alone and that was the truth, deciding to give up she drove herself into her slumber as the night got old.
