My heart fluttered. I laughed, feeling my cheeks flush warm again under his gaze. “Come on, don't be silly,” I said with a grin, playfully hitting his shoulder.
We spent a while more, discussing under the sky. After a while, we turned back, heading back to the mansion.
“We should come here often, don't you think?” He glanced down at me, falling into step beside me.
I tilted my head back to meet his gaze, feeling my own lips curl up in response. "Yes, I'd like that." Placing a teasing hand on my hip, I added lightly, "But after making sure everywhere is safe. We wouldn't want some monster jumping out at us, would we?" scoffing jokingly.
Chuckling low in his throat, Cole threw an arm around my shoulders and pulled me against his side as we walked.
