Velicia hesitated but eventually lowered herself into the seat as Gwendolyn began preparing a potion. “Another reason I needed you to come alone,” Gwendolyn said as she measured herbs into a steaming bowl, “was because I knew the orchestrator wouldn’t want you anywhere near me. So, they’d send their herd of hybrids to intercept you.” Velicia’s eyes widened, anger rising. “So you lured me here?
