VELICIA POV
I let out a long sigh. I just wanted to get away from this man, I don't even want to see his face but it's so unresistable.
To be honest, I just lied about Ms. Tracy His advances were making me nervous and reacting in ways I hated. I was supposed to stand up to these lycans!
I looked up at the six foot guy. Now why was he staring at me? He wasn't even staring at me, he was... looking at my boobs. I traced his eyes to where he was looking as I cringed. I felt naked and exposed.
His gaze was piercing, so I tried adjusting my shirt hoping the material would help me cover up whatever his eyes were looking at, but it wasn't.
He scoffed and rolled his eyes... What a creep!
“Velicia,” he said in a smooth, soft voice. Shivers ran down my spine.
He ran his fingers along my earlobes. “I don't want you to feel uncomfortable around me. You know what? Come with me to go check on the pack members,” he said.
I was just about to give another excuse before Amethyst scolded.
“Remember you still need to know what that contract with your father means, Vel.”
I almost forgot that I still wanted to understand what that contract meant. And till then, I had to remain in this house.
Hesitatingly, I nodded. “Sure.”
“Yes!” He threw his fist into the air, smiling hard. “Come with me, Velicia.”
He finally moved aside and began walking out of the warehouse. “So, is this your first time doing this kind of work?”
“I think that's obvious, to say the least,” I arched a brow at him. He laughed, keeping a grin. He was surely the cutest and most lively of them.
“Are you just gonna stand there and stare?” he asked. Then I realized I was still standing where I was, staring like a lost person.
“Oh, sorry,” I looked away, mortified, and began walking together with him as we left the warehouse.
I trailed behind him, my small figure shadowed by his broad back. Maybe I could speak to this one.
He started walking out of the mansion compound. I hurried to catch up so I was walking beside him instead of behind.
It was like we were going into the woods, but little by little, I could see the large gates of the pack becoming clearer, or I could now see it clearly as we were almost there.
"So, where exactly are we going?" I asked, scanning the surroundings warily.
"There's a pack of lycans living deeper in the woods," Cray replied. "We like to do routine check-ins to make sure everyone's healthy and safe. I’m on duty today."
He glanced over at me. "No need to be so tense, sweetheart. These woods are perfectly safe as long as you've got me around," he added with a wink and flash of a grin.
I rolled my eyes but relaxed a little. "Don't call me sweetheart. I never wanted to be mated to any f*****g Alpha lycan triplets.”
As soon as those words rolled off, I regretted it. And again, Amethyst reprimanded me.
Cray, however, didn't seem bothered. Instead, he smiled.
“Fair enough. But we're not all bad, you know. Cole and Carl are just d***s,” he pointed out as we reached a large gate.
“If you weren't the whole world wouldn't be in tremors at your name,” I snapped.
He chuckled. “Trust me, it's all exaggerated. We live like every other wolf,” he said, reclining against the gate.
“That explains the countless murders every month, I guess.”
“Just expanding territories,” he shrugged with a scoff.
Expanding territories? That was the one way to explain something as serious as that. Well my pack was completely burnt down, does that count as a territory expansion too?
I looked up at him. If I was told one of the brothers would be this cool before, I would have smacked that person really hard.
I was so focused on his face that I didn't realize he had opened the wicket gate and was waiting for me to pass.
"Oh, sorry..." I whispered this apology with a bow, then walked through the narrow gate.
I was now in front of him, as I chose not to move until he was at my front.
Cray shut the gate behind us and fell into step beside me again. "No need to apologize, darling.”
He flashed me another grin. “But like I said, I'm not so bad once you get to know me. I know how to show a girl a good time.”
I swallowed hard, looking away. He sure has his way with words.
Ahead, a group of younger lycans were playing some kind of ballgame in a clearing. To my side, some muscular men were training.
“See, we're just like any other pack.” I nodded, a smile crossing my face.
“You know, you're even prettier when you smile. Do you know how hot you are right now?”
I took a deep breath hearing him speak with a soft voice.
My body reacted to it, as I felt my n*****s getting hard. Then his scent filled up my nose, even though we were still walking and not so close to each other. He walks really majestically, and I could see him trying to smirk.
"I don't understand what you mean by that, Cray."
"Oh, you will soon find out."
He fully smirked, and I couldn't help but wonder what he meant by that statement. My body wants it that bad. I want him to wrap his large hands around my tiny waist and slam me against the wall.
Hell no, there is no way that was the only thing I'm imagining in my mind right now.
We continued walking. I could see some people outside, like they were just taking a walk, while some were just going out of the pack to get something with their cars.
Those of them who were outside taking a walk immediately bowed their heads when they sighted us.
"Welcome, your majesty."
"Good day, your majesty."
But this prick didn't even respond to them. I rolled my eyes, as we kept moving, till we reached a somewhat secluded area.
However, my attention was elsewhere, so I didn't realize when Cray had already gone inside.
I was about to enter inside when I saw the bodyguards staring at me.
Oh yeah, I'm new here, so stop looking at me like that. Everyone here is just as creepy as f**k.
“Who are you? And what are you doing here?” One of them stopped me.
“You look like a slave!" The bodyguard on the left muttered with his eyes darkened, his fists clenched.
Of course I am - I mean, isn't that pathetic?
“Uhm... Yes.” I replied, bowing my head. Their presence was scaring me.
"Then go back to where you belong. What are you doing there? Don't you know that under no account should a slave leave the mansion without permission? Now, where is the permission?"
His voice was scaring the s**t out of me, but I didn't let it take over me. But I wonder how the permission even looks, which is not what was important right now. Didn't they see me walking with him just now?
"Are you dumb?" the other one on the right yelled with his deep voice, making me flinch.
"Where is the card? Or do you want to enter with another kind?"
He raised his eyebrows as he ran his eyes around my body.
I clenched my fists as I looked at Cray, who was slowly turning back, but there was a woman who covered him, so basically, I couldn't even wave at him for him to see me. There was noise everywhere, which made it f*****g hard, too.
"Look, sirs, I walked in here with Cray, sorry... Young Master Cray..."
"Oh, you are one of his bitches. No wonder you called him by his name. Cray's sluts," they both laughed. I clenched my jaw at the insult.
I was about to say something when a voice interrupted me.
"The f**k did you just say to her?"
And there was Cray. I think he had finally noticed that I wasn't following him. But wait... This was another kind of anger as his eyes darkened.
"Answer me!”
