Chapter Six. Uki stood in line in the grand hall of the interspecies school, her eyes glancing into the crowd of people who had come to support their loved ones in the graduation ceremony. A small smile teetered on her lips as she saw her brother King Fitzwilliam sitting alongside his mate, Queen Eliza, front and centre. Behind him was Royal Beta Edvard and his Fae Mate Giselle, beside them were Elder Aiden Whitestone and Elder Meradith Whitestone, the queen’s parents. Beside them were Odin and Stephano, Meradith happily chatting with the mates, not at all offended by their sexuality, unlike Odin’s parents. It made Uki’s heart glad to see her friend being fully accepted by an Elder of the royal werewolf pack. All of her guests were beaming with pride toward her. She took a step forward, as the next student, a human girl, walked up to receive her scroll and sash, her family instantly jumping to their feet, applauding loudly, some placing their fingers in their mouths and whistling at her, causing the poor girl to flush bright red. Uki took a deep breath, a sudden wave of sadness washing over her. She thought of her father, the old king, wondering if he was looking down on her with pride. He had never wanted her to attend the school, wishing to keep her close, unable to bear the thought of missing her as much as he missed her mother after she entered her final rest, during a previous war with the War Dragon King Marcus. However, she hoped that now she had completed her studies with such high marks, he would be sitting with their ancestors applauding her efforts. She stepped forward once more, glancing around the hall filled with guests, noticing King Zamir, Anais’s half-brother, in attendance. Next to the Fae King sat another Fae whom Uki did not recognise, but he looked equally as proud of Anais as the king himself did. Maybe he was another one of her siblings, given Anais had so many, her mother not backwards in coming forward with her many different s****l partners. Uki flickered her eyes left and right and felt another wave of disappointment when she did not see Lucias. He had not come to celebrate his half-sister’s achievements. She had secretly hoped he might. The disappointment turned to annoyance that he had not bothered being a good brother to Anais. That was her excuse for her anger, and she would not admit, even to herself, that it was because she had hoped he would see her graduation also. “Nobody wants him here anyway,” Bodecear growled inside her head. Her wolf was equally angry with the appendage head. Anais stood on the stage, the head professor smiling at her, as he congratulated the hybrid on her achievements. She had, indeed, passed the history of Dragons part of her final exams; in fact, she had aced it, not getting a single question wrong. Uki had remembered her friends' shock when she opened her results. Although the score was of little shock to her and Castella, they knew she would ace it. King Zamir stood to his feet, the man beside him clapping like crazy, as the king moved his fingers and thumbs together, creating a magical light show, which filled the hall with rainbow colours of celebration. Uki’s own family, along with Odin, Stephano and Castella’s parents, stood and applauded the hybrid, Beta Edvard, who had helped Anais when she needed him most, standing on his chair and cheering the loudest. Anais took the scroll in her hands, then shyly lifted it in the air in acknowledgement of the support her family and friends were showing her, before moving off the stage. Castella was next to accept her scroll. Once more, the hall erupted into cheers as her parents let out a howl of praise to their daughter. As with all her friends, her family enthusiastically applauded Castella’s achievements. Two more students stepped up for their awards, and then it was Uki’s turn to take her final step. She moved onto the stage, walking towards the different professors, each of them congratulating her with broad smiles and genuine praise, until she came face to face with her dragon professor, who narrowed his elliptical eyes, before huffing out a begrudged ‘congratulations’. Uki gave him an extra wide grin. “Thank you so much,” she sweetly said, knowing it was going to wind up the professor more than if she got angry with him. She moved to the head professor, who smiled warmly at her. “Princess Uki, it is my greatest honour to give you this scroll. I hope that you will take all you have learned and apply it to your future. It is your generation who will help facilitate change, and make Mythicalia a blending pot of species, where everyone can live together in harmony and respect, throughout all the kingdoms, and not just in the Neutral Zone,” he said. “Thank you, Sir. I will do my very best to bring unity to our world,” Uki stated, meaning every word. Uki bent her head down as the head professor placed the snow-white sash over her body, the one reserved for the snow werewolves, then handed her the scroll. Thunderous applause filled the hall, howls from the werewolves echoing around the building, her brother the king’s loudest of them all. Rainbow confetti fell from the sky as she glanced over at Giselle, who was frantically rubbing her thumb and fingers together, creating the magic. King Zamir was standing to his feet, applauding her, and the man beside him was also standing. He stared at her intensely, a small, proud smile on his lips, clapping his hands together, before giving Uki a solitary nod of his head. Uki furrowed her brow slightly, wondering once more who the man was, and making a mental note to ask Anais when they got into the dining hall, where they would all be served an array of food and drink to celebrate their achievements. Castella, Uki, and Anais stood together in the corner of the grand formal dining room, grinning happily, as Odin and Stephano appeared beside them. “I am so proud of all of you,” Odin declared, clapping his hands with joy. “As we are of you,” Uki grinned at her friend. “Where is your family?” Stephano asked, a little excited to officially meet not only the King of Werewolves, but also the King of the Fae. He had been practising a flamboyant bow with Odin for weeks in preparation. There had been no time to show them his appreciation during the ceremony, as they had been a little late to the event, arriving just before the celebrations began. It was all his fault, and the human mate of Odin took full responsibility. He had spent too long in front of the looking glass, attempting to find the perfect attire for the occasion, much to his mates' amusement and slight annoyance. “Oh, they are over there somewhere. Would you like to meet them?” Uki grinned, already knowing the answer. “Really? I am unsure I am prepared,” Stephano said, as Odin chuckled, rolling his eyes. Uki giggled with Castella and Anais, who all knew there was nobody in the dining room more prepared to meet the royals than Odin’s mate. The group of best friends moved towards where their families and friends stood, and Uki looked for the man who had been beside King Zamir. “Hey, where is your other brother?” Uki asked. Anais looked at her, raising her eyebrow in question. “What other brother?” the rainbow dragon / fae hybrid asked. “The one sat next to Zamir. I do not believe we have met, yet he applauded me, and I wanted to thank him,” Uki said. “Oh, the man beside Zamir. He is not one of my Fae brothers. In fact, I have no clue who he was,” Anais shrugged a shoulder. Uki furrowed her brow and glanced around the room to see if she could find the man, but he was nowhere to be seen. “Strange,” Uki whispered, as Odin linked his arm through hers. “Come on Princess, Stephano is going to spontaneously combust if we do not make the introductions to Fitz and Eliza soon,” he grinned at her, as Uki nodded her head, and led them toward her brother, and watched her brothers glint of shocked amusement in his ocean blue eyes, as Stephano did his most flamboyant bow to him, and had to supress the giggle which was threatening to erupt from her lips.
