Three quarters of UT-El Paso’s student body and half of UT-Permian Basin’s were of Hispanic descent. The FBI was recruiting at both schools to correct an old habit of hiring primarily white males with military or law enforcement backgrounds. Good men, but the Bureau wasn’t fighting only white male crime these days.
