Chapter Eight — Snowfall Secrets
Jasmina POV
Snow fell thick outside Karina’s living room window. Hot chocolate in hand, I watched the flakes settle.
Zade was sitting across from me, hoodie up, elbows on his knees. He didn’t speak, just watched me.
“You’re quiet,” I said.
“Observing,” he replied.
I laughed softly. “You make that sound dangerous.”
“It is,” he said.
The tension was unbearable, magnetic. Every glance, every pause felt loaded.

Zade POV
She was soft in the firelight, a fragile storm wrapped in pink and glitter.
Her laugh hit me like whiskey and sugar. I wanted to protect her. Wanted to push her closer.
“You shouldn’t laugh like that,” I said.
“Why not?”
“Because it makes me… stupid,” I admitted.
She tilted her head, eyes curious. “Stupid how?”
“I… don’t know,” I muttered, trying to sound casual.

Jasmina POV
Karina excused herself, leaving just us.
He leaned forward, close enough I could feel the warmth from his hoodie.
“You trust me?” he asked.
I hesitated. “I… maybe.”
He smirked. “Good. You’ll need that trust. Things are about to get… complicated.”
Zade POV
She wanted to deny it, but her fingers twitched.
I knew she felt it. The pull. The chaos.
I wanted her to lean in, to feel it all. But not yet. Not until she knew she couldn’t resist me.
