"What are you doing awake by this time?" Cade asked. This was a way of him defending himself. He did not expect that he would be seeing her awake by that time. He had come home late even though it had not been intentional at all.
"Did you expect me to be sleeping? Is that why you were tiptoeing around me?" she asked leaving the shadow and coming into the only small light that illuminated the entire path.
"Yes I did expect you to be sleeping considering the time"
"Well I could not sleep" she replied yawning. "And you want to know why?" she asked crossing her hand across her body as a belt to hold in place her robe.
"Did I wake you?"
"Of course but you kept me awake," she said tilting her head again. She began to feel as though titling of her head was fast becoming a habit of hers.
