LILA’S POV The morning after the battle came too quietly. Sunlight filtered through the tall pine trees surrounding the pack grounds, soft and golden, as if nothing terrible had happened during the night. Birds chirped somewhere above, and a cool breeze brushed across my skin. It felt wrong. Because the ground beneath my feet still held the scars of war. Claw marks tore through the dirt.
