I doubled over, a strangled gasp tearing from my throat as something inside me snapped.
Not physically.

“Lila!”
Callum’s voice sounded distant, like it was underwater.
My hands slammed against the ground as my entire body trembled. Energy surged violently beneath my skin, golden light flickering uncontrollably, spilling out in bursts that made the runes on the walls flare wildly.
“No… no” I choked.
This wasn’t random.

Fear.
Pain.
Rage.

My head snapped up, eyes blazing gold.
“Sara…” I whispered.
