The Hunted

Chapter 5

Lilly stared at the phone in her hand a minute then remembering where she is she looked up at the stares from the guys on the porch.

"Just my older sister calling to check in." She said as she began wlking back to meet them on the porch.

"Older sister? Why did you tell her where you were then?" Shane asked with a confused tone.

"Because my sister is...." She thought for a minute. "Protective" she finished.

"OVER protective" Misty added. The two brothers looked at each other for a second and then Sean said "She can't be that bad"

"oh no... She is. Nissa is so over protective of Lilly here I'm sure she could kill someone and not blink for her." Misty said with an eye roll.

Truthfully, Nissa would kill to protect Lilly and she knew it because Nissa had already done that before. Nissa was dangerous when it came to the ones she loved. Unfortunately, the only person Nissa had left to love was Lilly. After their mother sacrificed herself to save them two years ago, Nissa changed. The face of the man that killed her mother flashed before her eyes for a second and for that one second she thought to herself He only wants our power and I hope he never finds me.

"Earth to Lilly... You coming girl." Misty said breaking her trance.

"Yeah." She said and followed the others into the house.

When the car pulled up he was already pissed that he had to do the Southern Hospitality thing and greet the guest. His mood since his Chosen Mate ran off with her actual mate had been sour all the time. His brothers hadeven stopped trying to cheer him up after a few weeks. As the car pulled to a stop in front of them his wolf Jax spoke Maybe it won't be so bad. Sebation rolled his eye and didn't respond. When the door opened a strong scent of smokey pine hit his nose. It was a weird smell. It put him in the mindset of a bonfire on a fall night. He watched as a girl with wavy strawberry blond hair was pulled from the car. The girl must not have expected it because she began to fall forward, unable to gain her balance. The instict to protect her surged through Sebation and he moved quickly to catch her. He grabbed her under her arms to steady her. That touch sent pleasure filled sparks from his hand and up his arms. He heard her gasp. She looked up at him. When her amber eyes met is his wolf yelled "MATE" loudly in Sebation's head. He stared at her, taking in her tan complextion. She had hig cheekbones and perfectly plump light pink lips. She was beauty in itself. It only took a second for Sebation to remember she was human. DAMN IT he thought of course I would get mated to a useless f*****g human. With that he harded his eyes and his heart. He removed his hands from her and stormed into the house slamming the heavy oak door behind him so hard the frame of the old victorian house shook. His wolf whinned in his head wanting to go back to his new found mate. Sebation told him NO. His wolf then retreated to the back of his mind and closed him of to sulk. Sebation went upstairs to his room and shut the door, closing out his human mate.
