The party went on after the introduction, I found out that Brenda was one of the girls from my back when I turned to look. She said that Asher was totally his type. I didn’t say anything in return.
“Do you know that only a few people call him Troy?” Brenda shared while we were grabbing a glass of drink. I don’t really want to hear anything from that guy but it got my interest.
“Why?” I asked in curiosity. It’s not like I want to know more about him, I’m just curious.
“He only allows his close friends call him that, I call him Troy though. He won’t know” Brenda giggled.
“I would know.” A baritone voice said from our back. And there he was again.
When I turned to look at him, his piercing eyes welcomed me. There’s this weird feeling again. I never felt this before and it’s making me uncomfortable. I looked away before he did, and before I could exit, Brenda spoke.
“I- I’m sorry, I won’t call you that again.” She said while hiding a little on my back.
“And you, what can you say, little girl?” he tauntingly asked.
I arched my brows when I heard him. What? Who’s the little girl?
“Me?” I unbelievably said while pointing at my chest.
“Who else?” he smirked while gazing at my finger that is pointing at my chest.
“See? Little.” He smirked, walking away.
When I followed where his gazed was, my cheeks turned red. That p*****t!
“I hate him so much” I exclaimed in disbelief. I walked out and went back on my seat and Brenda was following me.
“Don’t mind him, he’s probably joking” Brenda then stifled a laugh which made my cheeks redder than it is.
I can’t believe that after I received that insult from him, the unsettling feeling on my chest and my stomach is still there. Remembering his muscular scent, his eyes and his smirk. Damn, he’s fine as hell.
“Are you drunk already? Your face looks red” Brenda said while putting her palms on my cheeks.
I ignored her remark and went to the buffet section to grab some treats and there I saw a shy looking girl, grabbing a bunch of cupcakes on her plate. She’s the youngest daughter of the Monteverdes. I saw her earlier. She is gorgeous, her features are almost the same as her brother’s but her fashion sense needs work. She’s also wearing rimmed glasses, really? Does she never heard about contacts before? She must’ve noticed me eyeing her so she smiled and waved at me.
“H-hi” she shyly said and I smiled back.
“I’m Tati” I introduced myself. She placed her plates down to get my hand and she smiled.
“I’m Aubri. How old are you?” she happily asked.
“18” I shortly replied while slowly grabbing the same cupcake that I saw on her plate.
“We’re the same age! Do you study at Mont High too?” she asked and I nodded. She said that she’s a transfer there and she knew no one. I offered to tour her on her first day and I saw how happy she was.
“Thank you. I’m glad I met you, people only approach me because they like my brothers but no one wants to actually befriend me” she sadly said. She looks beautiful, for sure she’ll be popular if she fixed the way she dresses.
“I can help you” I smiled and we talked for a bit. I even forgot that I had Brenda waiting for me at the table if she didn’t go to the buffet to look for me.
“Who’s that?” she asked while we were heading back. She must’ve been too focused on the brothers before that’s why she doesn’t know who the girl is.
“Aston and Asher’s sister.” I replied while eating the cupcake.
“Hey, Tati! Don’t eat too much!” my mom exaggerated when she saw me eating the cupcake. I rolled my eyes in response, for pete’s sake, I haven’t eaten anything tonight and I’m hungry.
“Come here” she smiled rather too much that her usual smile. There was Asher’s father, Engr. Emilio. I wiped my mouth as I smiled on their way. I’ve been thought how to properly greet my family’s business acquiantances. Since they keep telling me that I’ll be managing their business when they resign, they thought me these things.
“Pleasure to meet you, Mr. and Mrs. Monteverde.” I smiled as I reached for their hand. The wife greeted me with a big smile.
“Call me Aunt Veria. Ashiana, your daughter looks extremely beautiful.” She glanced at my dress as she spoke again, “And elegant”
I thanked her as I offered my hand on their father who looked strict but he was smiling a little when he took my hand, “You’re 18, definitely ready for marriage” he released a heartily laugh and my parents laughed with him.
Wedding? At 18? Well, I don’t really mind, as long as I marry the person I like. I smiled in response. Aunt Veria called out her children and they all went on our table. “I’m sure you met our children already. This is Aleshias, our business partners and this is their daughter, Tatiana”
And there goes the p*****t. I looked at him with anger in my eyes while he looked at me with his usual amused expression. I hate that my heart and my stomach doesn’t agree with the face that I’m making. Why am I feeling like this? I glanced at Ashton who looks amused while looking at Asher. What’s with this two?
“I already met your daughter, Ma’am” I said while smiling at Audri who looks happy to see me. She’s really cute, I like her.
“I told you to drop the formalities, just call me auntie” she gave me her classy smile. I can’t believe how good looking this family are. Even their father and mother looked like they are still on their 30s. Aunt Veria looked sophisticated but she also look stoic just like her sons. I’m glad that she likes to smile around me, if she's not, I’ll probably pee on my dress.
“How about me? You met me already” Asher’s voice said while smirking at me. I smiled fakely at him when I saw his parents looking at us and when they started talking about business again, I rolled my eyes at him.
“I guess I’m the late comer, I’m Ashton” the oldest introduced himself. He looks like a carbon copy of Asher but the difference is, his aura is lighter and he doesn’t smirk—he smiles. Why am I even comparing the two?
I smiled as I gave my hand, “Tati, nice to meet you”
“I see you got closer to Troy” he smiled, glancing on his side where the p*****t is.
“No, actually I don’t know him” I instantly replied. Ashton glanced on his brother again and he laughed a little. “I guess I’ll leave first?”
Before I could react, Ashton went on his way. I was watching his leaving back when a figure blocked my sight. It was Asher. He was frowning and he looks unhappy with something. My heart is not functioning properly again.
“W-what?”
“You said you don’t know me” he whispered on my ear. I felt shivers down my spine when I felt his breath near my neck.
“W-well I don’t really know you” is all I was able to blurt out while trying to make some space because he’s too near.
“Should I say ouch?” he whispered again before he turned his back to leave.
