The Untamed Wife

Chapter 7

I ended up following what the devil wants. He made sure I'll stay at home by greeting my mom inside. Now he's invited to have dinner with us because my mom seems too pleased that a Monteverde was here. I also texted Kelvin that I couldn't make it because something bad happened. It's not entirely a lie, is it?

"I'll enjoy the food ma'am." the asshole said, smiling at my parents like a good kid. He definitely can act. Why don't he just piss off and be an actor instead? 

I sighed as I started grabbing my own food. I can feel his stares next to me as I placed the rice on my plate, I usually eat a lot but I got conscious because of his stare. Seriously, this Monteverde!

"Why are you eating so little?" he asked while looking at me with furrowed brows. 

"I'm not hungry." I just replied to shut him up. My mother, who seems to be enjoying eavesdropping to the both of us got my attention. 

"Mom, where's dad? It's a miracle that you're home early" I asked while giving her an amused face. It's the truth, I can barely see the both of them at home because they are too busy with work. I understand that they wanted to earn for my future but at least have dinner with e once in a while? 

"He had to meet a friend of his and I figured, I haven't spent time with my daughter for so long." she softly smiled. 

I smiled in return. To be honest, I miss my free days with mom. Back when our business is just starting, we would hang out every weekend just to shop and have fun. I miss those days. I will surely miss my parties just to have a mother and daughter date with her again. 

"How about this Saturday? Shopping?" I asked while giving her a hopeful smile. 

"Sorry honey, we have to leave for Singapore that day." she replied and before I could answer, her phone started ringing so she excused herself to pick the phone up. 

I sighed. I expected that reply, but still it made me disappointed. What's new anyway?

"Do you want to shop this Saturday?" he suddenly asked, now giving his full attention to me. 

"Everliane will sure be mad. I'm good." I replied, eating a few bites on my plate. I suddenly lost my appetite.

"I told you, Everliane is just a fling." he replied, almost rolling his eyes at me. Seriously this guy!

"So you bring flings on your house?" I absentmindedly asked. 

"She invited herself, I don't even remember her name but my mom knew her mom." he boredly replied and it made me shut up. I suddenly feel calmed? I don't get the feeling myself.

"So Saturday? Mall?" he asked again. 

I looked at him. Actually Brenda invited me to shop with her and my other friends, but since I was trying my luck with my mom, I thought I'd ditch it. But now? Asher? Asking me? I don't really know.

"You don't have any plans?" I asked him, taking a spoonful of rice and meat after.

"Nah, 100% free." he winked after. 

The dinner didn't last long after that, when my mother arrived, she said she had to visit the office to check something. Asher left not long after that. 

Friday came and I was about to go home to rest. Brenda and Ali invited me to a hydro party tonight and I said I'll go, it's been a while since I partied since it's a school dy and every time Asher would find out, he would find different ways to stop me from going. He even asked one of the party's host to don't invite me. The nerve of this guy!

"You aced your quiz and we don't have any assignment, we'll go tomorrow?" he reminded and that's when I remembered that I agreed to go with him this Saturday. I haven't told Brenda and my friends that I have other plans, I hope they won't mind.

I nodded my head as he followed me outside. I also got used to him picking me up and taking me home because he always insist. Audri was fetched by their driver while he brings his car. He doesn't know that I'm going to a party tonight, he doesn't have to know, right? I don't even know why I feel guilty doing this. 

"Are you okay? You don't look too good?" he asked when we entered his car. 

"Yeah." I briefly replied. I don't know when did I start agreeing with this set up but ever since my mom found out that he fetched me once, she doesn't nag about my driving anymore. She seems to give me more freedom too. I don't know if I should be happy for that or not.

We arrived home not long after, I went out as fast as I could after thanking him. I won't stay long there, don't feel guilty Tati!

I wore a simple white tank top and a high waisted short. Since it's a hydro party, I'm pretty sure I'll get wet. I also bought a spare shirt with me, just incase. 

"Will you pick me up? 

"Yes girl, me and Ali are almost there" she spoke immediately when she took the phone call. After I said "Okay." they arrived not long after.

"Why do you look so down? Cheer up! Hot boys are coming!" Brenda said while dancing in front of her stirring wheel. I laughed in response. 

She's right, it's not like I'm doing something wrong, I'll make sure I enjoy this night! Let's party!

"Alright let's go!" I shouted, matching their excitement. 

"That's what I'm talking about!" she giggled, opening the door in the passenger seat and I entered. 

"I heard Lucas will be there" she whispered as soon as I got in. She calls it "whisper" but we both heard it so well. 

Lucas, well, he was my fling. Was. I don't know what happened but I stopped talking to him. We make out when we see each other but we don't really care about having a label or not. He's the longest fling I ever had because he's not as clingy as the other guys I've been with. 

"I'm not in the mood for him" I boredly said while checking my social medias, I can already see some of my acquaintances posting about the party. The party is already starting, it's just 7pm, I don't mind going late because usually 12 am is the party's peak. Well, Brenda and Ali wanted to go early since it's less crowded and I just agreed. 

I wonder if Audri will like this place? I wanted to invite her but I'm scared that Asher might find out. He's very protective of his sister. He might accuse me of being a bad influence to her. But I'll try to invite her next time.

"I'll invite Audri next time" I informed the girls and Brenda just shrugged. This is why Brenda is my closest friend. She just go with the flow, she doesn't complain and she's always there. She also enjoy parties and boys which is why we get along. Sometimes I'd give her my date and she'll cover up for me. 

She's beautiful too. She's shorter than me and her tanned skin compliments her wavy hair so much. She's like a beach girl, her body proportions are no jokes too, since she enjoys yoga and exercising like me. This is the reason why she gets a lot of attention from boys but she's too noisy, that's probably her flaw.

"Well, there's a lot more hot boys in there. I heard Anton is there too."  Ali said, showing me her phone with a picture of Anton with some girl.

Oh no. Does this mean that Asher is there too? He's not on the photo but if Anton is there then Asher is probably there too! What do I say?
