""Be there in 10 minutes" he said over the line before he dropped the call.
We've been like this for two months now. We're like friends but we're too close to be friends. I don't know and I'm okay with it. Maybe? We also exchange phones sometimes, he's too worried that boys are on my inbox again and he want to make sure that I wasn't receiving any. I don't really mind, he sometimes call the other guys back too just to scare them.
Not too long after, he said that he was already outside. Before I went out, mom placed a kiss on my cheek, which she doesn't usually do in the normal days.
"Take care, baby." she smiled as she grabbed her keys for work.
I smiled before heading out. There's nothing much happening lately but I'm fully contented. Everything seems to be going my way. I like it this way.
"Good morning" he greeted as he handed me my favorite coffee. He usually buy me breakfast first before we head to school because I don't like eating breakfast at home. I told him that he didn't have to but he insists anyways.
"Thanks, where's yours?" I asked as I opened the other bag containing bread.
"We ate breakfast at home because mom wants to cook" he simply said, giving me my phone. I know what he meant by this, he just wants me to hold it, it doesn't mean that we're switching back.
"Have a bite." I told him, putting a bread on his mouth. He did took a bite but I can see on his face that he's really full. But he bought too many food, I can't possibly finish it all.
"Help me finish this later, then" I pouted while looking at all the bread. I wonder how many calories are in here, I like keeping my figure in check and this guy right here keeps feeding me!
"You're too thin, eat more." he said, brows furrowing giving me a short glance.
"I have to be thin, you know I model every summer, right?" I said while looking at him with an are-you-kidding-me face.
"I didn't know about that. So that's where you got more exposure from guys." he said while looking like he realized something critical.
"And where do you get your girls then?" I asked, crossing both of my arms this time. This is how you wanna play? Alright then.
"Parties? You know I don't go to parties anymore. You also have my phone, you may block them anytime." he said confidently while looking for a parking slot on our school.
It's true. Ever since we changed simcards, this guys still have a lot of girls in his messages, some of them said that they got it from a friend and many other random reasons. He told me once that I am free to remove and block the numbers on his phone but I'm not going to do it. He's free to do what he wants on his phone. Besides, we're not a thing, I think?
I stayed quiet even when we reached our classroom. We both agreed not to disturb each other while studying. I may look like a party girl but I care about my grades so much. As an only child, I wanted to be the best in everything. I even did sports when I was younger, I don't have enough time to do that now that I'm in my senior year though. I sat on my seat and I opened my book to read. History is our first class today, the teacher likes having surprise recitations so I want to make sure that I'm always ready.
"I've read that one last year, want me to teach you?" he suddenly asked while chewing the bread that I failed to finish earlier.
"No, I'm okay. It's not that hard." I smiled a little at him and I went back reading again.
I suddenly thought of Audri who's not present at the moment.
"Where's Audri?" I asked Troy who seems to not worry even a bit. He usually asks where his sister is whenever were together but now he seem so calm.
"she went out with mom. There's no major subjects today so she skipped." he simply replied and my mouth suddenly formed an "o" shape. I miss hanging out with my mom like that. She doesn't let me skip class though, I think I took over my mom's traits. She always want the best for me while my dad is the chill one. He gives me everything that I want while I have to work hard for mom first before I could get something from her.
Our homeroom teacher suddenly appeared, giving us a big smile.
"Sorry for the interruption but your history teacher won't be here today so I'm going to introduce our new transfer student." she spoke and everyone turned quiet, anticipating what she's going to say next.
Transfer student? In November? He or She's probably rich as hell to have that connection. I placed my book back on my bag and I asked Troy to give me some bread.
"Open your mouth." he said while looking directly on me. I opened my mouth and he placed a big bite on it. I looked at him with angry eyes but before I could react, a girl spoke.
"My name's Isabella, nice to meet you all." she smiled and looked around the classroom.
Well, she's beautiful and I can't deny that fact. She stopped her gaze at me, I guess? And she gave out a smile.
"Can I seat next to mister Monteverde?" she asked excitedly and she gave Troy's seat mate a puppy look.
I turned to look at Troy who's busy cleaning the sides of my mouth because of the bread earlier.
"What?" he asked, looking curious. Does this guy doesn't even notice his surroundings?
So she wasn't looking nor smiling at me, she meant Troy. I almost rolled my eyes. Well, if Troy likes her then they are free to date or whatever. I don't care.
"What's with the sudden grumpy face?" he asked with a furrowed brows. I didn't gave him an answer and I grabbed my history book again so I could have a reason to ignore him.
"We don't have a history class, do you want to grab some food on the cafeteria?" he asked, pulling away my history book from me. I don't have any focus to even read a line from there anyway.
"You just got me bread, why would we go there again? You're making me fat" I rolled my eyes tiredly.
"We'll work out together on Saturday, we'll lose all the food I gave you. Now come on." he chuckled.
"Troy! Long time no see!" the transferee said.
If I didn't pke his shoulder to look at the girl, he would've ignored her. I smiled a little. Take that transferee!
"Oh, Isa. What's up?" he boredly replied as he turned around to look at her.
I don't know what has gotten into me but I suddenly lost my appetite. Though I'm originally full from the breakfast, I just don't feel like looking at them talking. There's a weird feeling on my chest, and I don't like it very much.
I turned my back to grab my things. Since we have three hours of history period today, the absence of the teachers means no classes. I might as well just go home and go back for the afternoon class. We usually go to lunch together but I think he'll be little busy after meeting an old friend.
Something about him calling the transferee by her nickname doesn't feel right about it. I don't know what is it and I don't want to find out.
