Blake was startled by a scream from the locker room and looked up from his phone. Daniel, too, had his attention fixed on the locker room door. Before they could investigate, Jane emerged, instantly recognized by Blake.
"Jane?" he called out, but she brushed past him.
Daniel caught her by the shoulders. "Jane, what happened? What did you do to her?
"Nothing. I... I don't know..." Her trembling voice betrayed her, and Blake suspected she had harmed Brianna. "Let me go! I didn't do anything to her!"
She wrenched free from Daniel's grasp and fled. He tried to chase after her, while Blake hurried into the locker room to find it empty, except for blood spattered across the floor and a blood-stained blade.
