Jaiyana perfectly knows that Khaleed is a short-tempered individual and anything that crosses him wrongly will meet a dead end. He's like a girl who is menstruating and having the most painful cramps which affects his mood. One time, he will be hot and next, he will be cold. It would be better for her to do his biddings but she shouldn't get the short end of a stick just because he's intimidating. She should at least negotiate if there is something that he wants her to do. Because him appearing here is definitely not a coincidence.
"What do you want?" Jaiyana eyed him warily.
"You did a good job for someone who has skinny bones, to be able to kill a rogue who's thrice larger than you." He nodded while eyeing the guy who's dead. There's no warmth in his eyes, as if everything is normal.
She can feel shivers running through her spine. This is the first time she had killed a person. She's aware that she said that she wanted to kill the person since the rogue was a threat to her and Hannah's life. Naturally, her killing him is justified since it was self defense and moreover, he is three times larger than him, if she didn't take the opportunity, her and Hannah will meet their demise. However, in the eyes of Khaleed, that wasn't the case. Killing is a very normal thing for him. His eyes were empty despite him smiling. There were no emotions in his eyes. Which makes me more aware that this person doesn't care about life at all.
Despite him being handsome, it feels like he has no life at all.
"Do something for me and I will reward you." He said with a smile.
"What's it that you want?" I asked.
"I need you to set the warehouse of your pack's food supply and to bring out some documents as well." The mischief in his eyes is evident but I know that he is planning something.
I raised an eyebrow at him, "If you want me to do something for you, you need to do something for me as well."
He raised an eyebrow as well, his eyes twinkling in amusement, "What is it?"
"Give me a land and a mountain where me and Hannah can hunt and lived and ensure Hannah's protection while I'm doing what you wanted me to do."
His playful smile disappeared, "And why should I give you land when I could have just eradicated them?"
"Why don't you go ahead and eradicate them then? Why use me to get some documents?" I shot back.
"Whether you want to eradicate them or not has nothing to do with me. Nothing is beneficial to me with your orders. Why should I listen to you when I won't get anything in return and instead, risk my life? Go ahead, eradicate them! I don't care." I turned my back on him and pulled Hannah out of the cave.
"Alright, I will give you land and a mountain." He said,
Oh look how powerful he is to give me land.
"I want two mountains and a land." I bargained.
"Don't test my patience." He's eyes are filled with contempt as he tries to reign his temper.
I clicked my tongue at him. Ah, how annoying.
"Don't test your patience? I don't care if you don't care about my life. But I do care about my life. If you can find someone who is willing to betray their pack, then go. I've already provided you a good deal but you refused. Suit yourself. I could be careless anymore. Only an i***t would risk their life for something unfruitful."
I took three steps before he grabbed my hand and I could feel an electricity shot through my skin, I immediately pulled my hand back and eyed him as if he's a p*****t.
"Fine. I'll do as you say. I will give you three mountains and a piece of land. Where will you find someone like me who is willing to listen to someone like you who's an omega?" He sighed in annoyance and gave up, then boasted about himself being the bigger person. I didn't know he would let me have my way and his ability to boast about himself. What's with him? Is he right in the head?
"I want it written on the contract." I voiced out.
"It will take two hours before the contract can be written as my seal is inside the mansion." He says.
I glared at him. "What kind of joke are you talking about? What alpha doesn't bring their seal and just leave it behind?"
Alpha Seals are a big deal when it comes to transactions whether it be money or food. And a seal will be used for declaration of war and invasion. Only an ignorant will leave their seal behind.
"Tsk. How do you know so much? Fine."
Someone walked inside the cave, a tall guy with a mustache on his face, with a checked polo and rounded belly, he winked at me and handed a thick stack of papers.
J checked the documents one by one.
"Kid, you're taking so long in checking that out." Khaleed complained.
"Wait a moment. I'm still checking." I said without throwing him a glance.
I heard Hannah's stomach growling in hunger. "Can you bring us some food and water? We're starving. And please bury the dead body and give him a proper burial." I asked Khaleed. Then another person went and brought down the food and took the body away.
"The body needs to undergo autopsy as there seems to be a forbidden drug that he took regularly." Khaleed says as he took out a cig and light it u and puff the smoke out. He really looks dazzling but only his eyes and his attitude is the problem.
"Is that why you want me to take the documents and see if he has any records with our pack? Is the investigation your doing about drugs?" I asked to confirm while checking the document.
"Didn't know your quite sharp." He says.
Knowing him that's probably an insult.
"You know what," I handed him his copy after signing it and got my own copy. "None of your words are helpful." I retorted with annoyance.
How could someone be so pretty and annoying at the same time?
