Waking up to maids bustling around me at the ass crack of dawn was one of the most unpleasant experiences maybe ever. I peered through eyes that did not want to open.
"What's going on?" I croaked.
"What's going on, she says? What's going on?" It was Josephine, and it was much too early for that tone of voice. "It is the first full day of the competition, my dear girl, and we have lots to do. You will also be getting an extra class all about the shifter life. That includes how you must behave."
"You mean so I don't, god forbid, piss off my kidnappers?" I snapped.
Josephine clapped her hands so loudly that I cracked open one eye. "Don't you take that tone with me, little human."
I groaned. "Is there any coffee around?"
One of the maids hustled out, hopefully to get me some coffee
