“We came to extend our sincere apologies and extend our condolences for the death of your son.” Maggie’s muttered with a remorseful face.   The woman who was the mother of Eddy Vorsah had not stopped cry the past three days since the news of the demise of her son was made public by the hospital. She had quickly gone to see him for the last time and his body had been transferred to the mortuary. Philip and Maggie were very devastated by the news. They knew what it meant. Their son Yaw could be implicated in a murder situation. Philip and Maggie had rushed to the hospital quickly after they heard the news. They were eager to see the doctor who had promised he was going to save the life of the Eddy. The doctor, just like the nurses were all distraught as Philip and Margaret engaged him in a conversation. The doctor had written a medical note saying that, the cause of the death of Eddy was his – a medical misdemeanor and the lack of medical equipment’s. Notwithstanding that, the doctor did his best, but Eddy died. Philip threw more light on the fact that with the note from the doctor, it meant their son Yaw was absolved from any incrimination of murder.    “Your son did not do anything Dr. Quansah. He was just trying to protect his sister.  So, we can say it was a self-defense and I will inform the chief of police as soon as possible.” The doctor said.   “Meaning, he did not kill the boy?” Philip inquired. “Yes, he did not. But you have the boy’s mother to deal with. She was here some few hours ago with another daughter of hers and she could not stop crying.” The doctor added.   “And what about the g**g, the g**g members of the boy. Have they showed up yet?” Maggie inquired.   “No, they haven’t. Not that I know of. I am sure they remember the peace agreement they signed with the police.” The doctor said. “I finally want to apologize for my failure to save the boy.” The doctor finally said, and Philip and Margaret quickly moved from the hospital.   The news had spread so far in the whole of Golden Creek. How it spread so fast was a mystery. But what was known, which everyone was talking about was that, the Quansah family had witchcraft and they had killed Eddy with their witchcraft. Philip and Maggie had quickly decided their children will not be safe with them at the moment until they got to know what the g**g boys were up tp. Abena unlike Yaw had been asking a lot of questions about the death of Eddy, but Maggie did well to give her just little news. Philip and Maggie decided they take their children to their grandfather for the time being until the whole death issue was nicely resolved. So, Koby had taken the kids on a journey to stay with their grandfather, the professor of medicine for the time being. They were going to have a normal life and continue the same school. Nothing had changed at all. After the children were gone with Koby, Philip and Maggie decided to go and see the mother of Eddy. And that was the place they were at the moment.   -------   Still in the house of Mama Vorsah as she was popularly known to be, Philip and Maggie tried to console her and sincerely tell her how sorry they were about all that had happened.   “Eddy was the man of this family. After his father passed away twelve year ago. He has been taking care of me and her younger sister. Now he too is also gone. Your son has taken him away from me and now who is going to take care of me.” Mama Vorsah lamented.   Philip turned to look at her wife. Maggie seemed to understand the women more than Philip. The younger sister of Eddy moved about the living room with so much hate for the man and women who were sitting with her mother. She could not talk, all that she could do was watch with quizzical eyes.     “We never meant for this to happen. And we are very sorry. We know we cannot bring him back but at least we want to do something for you.” Maggie and quickly fetched a brown envelope from her bag. She took it out and hurled it to Mama Vorsah. The woman was still sobbing but the sobbing quickly started ebbing after she saw what Maggie was extending to her.   “To show how sorry we are, we want you to have this GHC 20,000, twenty thousand Ghana Cedis. You can use it for a lot and hopefully to help your last child.” Philip said as Maggie was ready to release the money to Mama Vorsah.   Mama Vorsah was spell bound ephemerally.  She had never encountered such an amount of money ever in her life time. She was wholly dazzled and little shaky. The younger sister of Eddy who had also seen what was going on looked on stunned. Mama Vorsah then slowly moved her hand forwards and took the money.   “Ohhh may Jehovah bless you very much. I know there have been a lot of evil that have been said about your family. But I never thought you could ever do such a thing. Thank you once again.” Mamma Vorsah thanked.    “You are welcome Mrs. Vorsah. We are really sorry, and we like you to know it was never our intention, that something like this will ever happen your son.” Philip added. Mama Vorsah nodded her head. And with no further words to say, Philip and Maggie rose to their feet and bid Mama Vorsah farewell and left for their house. After they were gone, the younger sister of Eddy quickly came to her mother with an angry face.   “They think they can give us money for the death of Eddy. We do not need their money Mama. They killed Eddy and they all deserve to also die.” The young lady retorted in fury. Mama Vorsah looked on sad and little elated. “They gave me a gift and I could not say no.”   “And what about Eddy? What about your son, my brother? Have you forgotten they killed him?” The young girl said and quickly moved away from her mother.   -------     Another bright day greeted, the land of Golden Creek. The afternoon sun was smiling just for smiling sake.  Normal classes were on going at Stellar International School. The mathematics teacher was busy explaining the concept of algebraic factorization in Abena’s class. Most of the students were quiet listening and watching how the math’s teacher solved the basic Math’s problem he had put on the board. Although Abena was paying attention, she was lost in her own fantasy of getting the chance to use her powers again. Unlike her mom, Dad and Yaw, she had embraced her powers and was willing to use it any time when it was necessary.  Some few days before the demise of Eddy Vorsah, Maggie had called all of them for a family meeting. Abena thought it was another advice talk form her parents, but that was not it. This time, Kwesi was also included. Yaw asked Abena if she knew what their parent had called them for. Yaw replied he did not know and that made both of them curious.   Abena, Yaw and Kwesi were all seated on the sofa in the bed room of their parents, with their eyes wide open ready to hear what their parent had to tell them. Maggie took the chance to talk as she stood on her feet.   “We wanted to officially tell you, the powers you have is not evil. It’s a gift from God. And we want you to know, you have to be very careful with how you use it.” Maggie said. Abena looked on a little disappointed.   “Okay mom we will. I was thinking we were coming to talk about the fact you also have powers, from what we saw the last time…” Abena retorted. Philip face sunk, so did Maggie’s. They were not expecting that at all. Maggie smiled to her husband and stepped forwards a little.   “Yes, I also have powers like you Abena and Yaw. And for you to also know your Dad has powers too.” Maggie spilled the beans.   “Really!” Kwesi exclaimed. Philip nodded his head. “Yes Kay, I also have powers, but not so simple like Abena’s. Mine is a bit tricky.”   “Tell us Dad what is your power? What can you do?” Yaw inquired elated. Philip smiled a little and moved closer to Kay and said, “My powers could only be seen when I am running.”   “That is very cool like The Flash?” Kwesi inquired curious. “Not exactly, but we can say similar to the Flash.” Philip answered. Abena and Yaw turned their head and smiled at each other.   “We are telling you all this because you first trusted us by telling us your powers. And we also believe that you will not tell anyone about what we have just told you. Can you all do that?” Philip said. The three siblings responded affirmatively. Maggie then cleared her throat.   “But we are also more concerned about you Kwesi. Since we all have powers now, we may think you also have something you like to share with us. Do you also have powers…Kwesi?” Maggie asked and that was it. The big question had finally been asked.   Abena sat quietly in the class with her eyes focused on what the teacher was teaching but her mind was away in the past. She just remembered that particular meeting and every time she did, it filled her with much joy that her Dad, Mom, brother had powers. But she also became sad because her younger brother seemed to not to have any powers. Abena was not so much perturbed about that with the notion that she was going to protect him at all cost when it was needed.  The class was on going. The Math’s teacher had scribbled sixteen questions to be solved on the board. He had then moved to take a sit at his desk. Abena quickly took out her exercise book and started solving the questions.   A raucous sound rattled through the quietude. The students shouted, and the shout muted. The shout then came in more violently again. This time the number of voices that shouted had ascended. The sound was akin to students that were in danger and it was true, the students were in danger. The Math’s teacher quickly peered through the class windows. But was not getting a clear picture of what was happening. He then cautioned the students to sit tight after; he exited the class to catch a glimpse of what was happening.   Outside the school compound, there was mayhem. The three security guards at the entrance were lying fully on the floor with skin bruises. Standing in masses were the g**g boys - The Pirates of Golden Creek, in their red and black attire with black masks covering their faces. Only one of them had a red mask covering his face. And it was obvious that was the leader – Kwei Madon. They moved with a common rhythm arranged in a four by four matrix format. Kwei Madon was in the front as the leader. Together they marched on as it could be seen they were pregnant with fury. Most of the classes that saw them started shouting while other quickly closed their doors and locked themselves inside the classrooms. Kwei laughed to that.   “We are looking for these three children, Abena, Yaw and Kwesi Quansah. Yes, the Quansah’ s that is all we came here for. If you give them to us, we will go in peace but if you do not, then we will have to show you our other side.” Kwei bellowed. The math’s teacher immediately intercepted the g**g and he stood still looking at them. It was now apparent that, the g**g boys were the reason for the mayhem.   “And you will do no such thing. Have you not got any respect coming to this school and making demands?” The Math’s teacher retorted valiantly. Kwei looked at him and moaned with fury.    “Then I guess we have to teach you a lesson. Darkey handle him and the rest of you get the students. You two should follow me, move around the school and find the Quansah’s. Remember we are doing it for Eddy and the money the HamTech guy promised us.” Kwei reminded them.   Darkey then moved to the teacher, grabbed him by the hand and easily hurled him up. Darkey was powerful. And the only thing that could explain his power was the Hamozol he and all the other g**g boys had taken. All of the members of the g**g had taken a higher dose of the Hamozol for the operation. There were all now filled with enormous strength. The g**g boys moved to the class breaking the doors, the louver blades and the glass windows. They had so much energy to waste. Darkey had pinned the math’s teacher on the ground and the teacher was still talking, Darkey then kneeled and gave him crude dosses of blows which produce so much blood on his face with each strike. Abena on the other had had bravely moved from her classroom, having witnessed all that had just happened. She quickly bolted to look for her brothers.
