Chapter NineteenColin stared upward at the magnificent stonework of Chartres Cathedral. It made the Abbey of Iona look like a child’s toy and the brightly colored plassteel structures on New Kells look garish and even disrespectful. The twin spires soared above them. And, oddly enough, the structure kept growing impossibly more massive as they approached. The open plaza before the edifice only added to the effect sloping upward toward the cathedral’s perch atop the highest point in town.
