CHAPTER 15
By the middle of the day they had travelled across the plains and were now going uphill on the strangest road ever travelled on. It was eerie driving towards dense creeper and also larger trees with only a narrow dirt track to show the way. Travis found that the creeper ahead moved aside to reveal a well-formed gravel road to drive on. It was almost like a tunnel opening up for, with the creeper back from each side, the grey sky above came into view.
Behind them, the creeper closed back to their original positions so they were in a constantly moving open area about two hundred metres long. It varied at times as they zigzagged up a steep section with cliffs on the inside and the land dropped away on the outside. Here, the creeper sort of clung to the cliff face like a pedestria
