I turned my attention back to my phone when it vibrated with a chat notification. I immediately opened it. But instead of the message I was expecting from Garett, it was from Rhys.
My brow furrowed. It’s rare for Rhys to suddenly message me like this. I mean, even in our group chat with Shannon and everyone else, he usually just leaves messages on seen.

Rhys: I think I saw you earlier at the arena. Were you there?
Iris: Yes, I was there with my friends. We watched the game. I didn’t get the chance to come up to you because we also left right away.
