Hugh flipped through the files as he and Rex sat across from Gerard outside of Quark’s office. It’d only taken him a few moments to search the documents. They were all signed with his name, but the signatures weren’t even close to his.
“I need to see Mr. Quarks now.” He stood, handing Rex his file.
“Yes, sir.” Gerard left his desk and walked to the door. He tapped twice before opening it and stepping inside.
A few minutes later, Vickers came out of the room. “Hugh,” he said as he left.
It wasn"t that unusual for a lawyer to meet with the warden, but he was a suspicious man, and he already didn"t trust Vickers.
“Mr. Truent.” Gerard opened the door, stepping aside.
He stood and walked into the warden’s office. Rex followed him, closing the door behind them.
