Chapter Nineteen
Ramsay’s deputy came in, took one look at the scene in front of him with Beatrice brandishing the post hole digger at Lois, and quickly pulled out his handcuffs and slid them on Lois.
“What makes me the saddest,” said Beatrice, “is having to explain all of this to Piper when she comes back from her honeymoon.”
Lois couldn’t seem to muster a reply, her earlier bravado disappearing in the face of her arrest.
The deputy took Lois away and then Ramsay returned from Lenoir with Wyatt to take Violet’s statement first, and then Beatrice’s statement while Violet rested inside and Wyatt went inside to talk with her for a few minutes, as her minister.
