-Dahlia-
The Blue Moon pack was my life, until the day after I turned 18. Most shifters have their first turn before 18 so it’s almost unheard of for a shifter to not turn yet at my age. No one in our town thinks that I’m normal because of my ethereal green eyes and brown hair that shines silver in the sunlight. My name is Lia, short for Dahlia. My mother named me after that flower because she believed that I would one day become beautiful and grow into my role as the Alpha’s daughter.
She died when I was five trying to protect me from a rabid rogue wolf. My father didn’t get there in time to save her and I barely managed to survive. Now I have a long jagged scar from when the rogue attacked me that runs down the side of my stomach as a constant reminder of the worst day of my life. It was the day I lost my mom who was my best friend and the day my father and brother started loathing my very existence.
My brother Nik and I couldn’t be more different though much to my fathers liking. He has golden blonde hair and dark brown eyes that are almost black. He takes after my father in his looks and how he acts. The only thing that he got from my mother was her cheeky smile, but he hasn’t smiled since mom died. That is, until today.
I woke to him yanking me out of bed while sneering at me to get dressed and meet him and father at the train tracks that border our town, letting me go he gave me a sinister smirk and left. Once I was sure he was gone I threw on a long sleeve and my favorite pair of jeans and ran downstairs. Before I left I laced up my sneakers and put on a light sweatshirt and took off towards the tracks.
I made it there in about 10 minutes in a dead sprint. Once I got there I noticed that almost everyone from the town was there. When my father, Alpha James of Blue Moon turned and saw me, an evil grin spread across his face, making the scar on his left cheek stick out more and when I looked at his eyes they had turned black. I slowly made my way to him and once I reached my destination, he cleared his throat and began to speak,
“ Most of you know why we are gathered here today.”
He stopped to make sure all eyes were on him paying attention to his every word.
“ We are here to banish my pathetic excuse of an Alpha’s daughter from our pack. She is now 18 and has still not gained her wolf, meaning she won’t ever gain one and is therefore useless to this pack.”
He turns back to me again and smiles like this is the happiest occasion of his life.
“If there are any objections, now would be the time to speak up.”
I watched as everyone I had grown up with all unanimously agreed that they didn’t want me here anymore.
“Dahlia Montenegro of the Blue Moon pack, daughter of Alpha James and sister to future Alpha Nik, you are hereby banished from these lands. If you are caught trespassing you will be killed on sight.”
And with that, my connection to the pack was severed. I am officially a rogue now.
