John felt as if seeing a savior, barely managing to regain some composure.
He asked, "Yes, she went to Ostria and came back yesterday. Did you see her? Is she in the dorm?"
Her roommate looked puzzled and said, "No, that's not what I meant. When I said she went abroad, I meant that after she returned from Ostria, she went abroad again to study. Didn't you know that?"
"Studying abroad?" John was stunned. "But wasn't she going to study in Ostria?"
The roommate said, "No, she had initially said she was going to Ostria, but after she came back yesterday, she stayed up all night with her advisor to modify her application and said she'd never go to Ostria again…"
Her mouth was still moving, but John couldn't hear anything.
The words "modify her application" echoed in his mind.
