I had to cancel on Annie because of the work load I had to complete. She took it quite well to be honest and I arranged to here Friday evening once I had sorted this mess out. Over the next couple of days, I was ringing up different suppliers and ticking off a few things from the list. They were all being delivered on Thursday which is just in time for the clients. I had one item to tick off the list. I dialled up another company who supply this item and spoke to the staff member down the phone.
“Yes, 34 of them if that’s possible” I instructed.
“No problem at all, and would you like them delivered to the client or to the company address?” The woman on the other end of the phone asked.
“The company please” I replied. I heard her tapping away on a keyboard and then clicking the mouse.
“Okay, that’s all set for you. It will be delivered tomorrow around 5pm” she explained. I was slightly annoyed because that meant I would have to stay and wait for the order, but at least I have managed to sort this mess out for Liam.
“Brilliant! Thank you so much for your help” I thanked her down the phone and then hung up. I was so excited to tell Liam. I hopped up from my desk and scurried over to his office door.
“Liam?” I knocked on the door.
“Come in Elle” he said and I walked in. He looked up from his desk and smiled to me. I walked over and put the list of delivery times and the orders that have been placed in front of him. He looked astonished at my hard work.
“Elle! You’re amazing” he complimented and I flashed a cocky grin.
“I know” I laughed. He read each delivery information and let out a sigh of relief.
“Thank god for that, I thought we were going to lose a load of clients” he expressed whilst leaning back against his chair. I admired his relaxed posture and then asked “is there anything else you need help with?”.
“Well... I was hoping you would join me tonight for dinner?” He asked me and I giggled.
“I live with you Liam, I’m with you every night for dinner” I stated and he rolled his eyes.
“Well, I want to take you out for a proper meal” he explained and I couldn’t hold back my excited.
“I would love that!” I jumped.
Finally, after all these years, I’m finally going on a proper date Liam. I wanted to look my best so I put on the dress I had bought at the weekend and a pair of high heels. I looked so elegant and classy, I actually shocked myself. I put on my fake eyelashes, finished off my make up and put my hair into a straight, high pony tail. I looked at the necklace from my dad and decided that I was going to wear it, it always brought me luck. I can just hear him now... “my little button, you have grown up to be a beautiful young lady”... I wish he was here. I fastened the clasp at the back of my neck and let the necklace fall naturally. After one last glance, I headed towards the bedroom door. Liam was downstairs waiting for me.
“f*****g hell” he gasped as I entered the living room. He stood up and stared at me with admiration.
“You look... beautiful” he complimented sincerely. He placed a kiss to my lips and took hold of my hand.
“Shall we?” He joked, acting like a posh gentleman and directing me to the front door. I giggled and headed to his car. As we drove off, I noticed a familiar dark figure standing by the lamppost down the road. It was too dark to see his face but I could tell from what he was wearing that it was the same figure from before. I took in a sharp breath. Is he f*****g serious? Why is Dylan still stalking me?! Liam put his hand to my thigh.
“You okay?” He asked and I nodded, flashing a fake grin at him.
We parked up and headed to the entrance of the restaurant. It was posh and looked extremely expensive. I felt queasy from the butterflies in my stomach.
“Table for two?” The waitress asked, holding menus in her arm. The restaurant was carpeted with a golden glow, everything was shiny and pristine. Older couples were seating at various different tables and the odd younger couple were dotted around. You could tell they were all rich from the clothes they were wearing and the jewellery they displayed. I felt a bit out of place.
“There we are”. The waitress directed us to a table, decorated with cutlery, glasses and candles.
“Thank you” Liam said taking the menus from the waitress. He handed me one and the waitress grabbed a pen and paper from her apron.
“Can I get you any drinks? Bottle of wine?” She suggested. Liam gazed over at me and smiled.
“Your finest rosè” he ordered and the waitress flashed a flirty smile.
“Of course, I will be back with your wine and I will take your orders then”. The waitress walked off round the corner and left us alone. I opened the menu and saw the prices of the food.
“Liam! I can’t let you pay for this!” I exclaimed. He chucked and then replied “And why is that?”
“It’s way too expensive, this would cost me a months salary to eat here, that’s without knowing the price of the wine!”
“Elle” he began and took my hand.
“Remember when I asked to take you out for dinner?” He said with a humorous tone. I nodded in reply.
“Well... that was you consenting to me paying for it” he smirked. I rolled my eyes at his sarcastic remark.
“Fine, but I’m picking the cheapest thing on here”
“You do that and I will end up choosing for you” he raised his brow.
“Ugh... your impossible” I groaned. The waitress came back with the bottle of wine and took our orders after pouring the wine into our glasses. Liam took his glass and held it up to me.
“To a fresh start” he toasted and I knocked my glass against his. Ten minutes later, we had gotten into deep conversations about our personal lives. Liam had told me that he hadn’t really slept with anyone for a few years. He had the odd bang here and there but nothing serious, he wanted to focus more on his career. I explained the situation with Dan and about the point of where he turned nasty.
“So he just took his anger about Cameron out on you?” He question and I hummed, agreeing with it.
“I don’t understand it, I could never hit a woman, well... not in an aggressive way” he smiled hinting at something s****l. I sniggered and took a sip of my wine.
“I don’t either, he was fine for years, didn’t even hint at an aggressive side of him. But as soon as you and Cameron emerged, something just... snapped” I explained. He had a glint of guilt surface in his eyes before he blinked it away.
“Well at least your away from him now” he concluded.
“Thanks to you” I reminded him which made him blush.
“I’ll always be here for you”. I smiled and c****d my head slightly to admire him. The waitress interrupted us and placed our food down on the table.
“Can I get you anything else?” She asked and Liam said no dismissively. Throughout the date, I fell harder and harder for him. I was struggling to hold back anymore, my feelings were incredibly strong. I didn’t want to lose him this time. He has really changed, he’s turned into a such a caring, successful gentleman but he still had his fun, dangerous side.
“Elle... there’s something I wanted to ask you” he said sternly. I made eye contact with him and waited patiently for him to gather the courage to ask.
“I was wondering, would you move in with me, like officially?” He stumbled. I was slightly confused as I was already basically living with him.
“I thought I already did?” I queried.
“No I mean, as a couple” he nervously continued. My jaw dropped, he was asking me out? Are we allowed to be a couple? I was speechless.
“I know it makes things slightly complicated when it comes to our family, but I can’t pretend anymore. I’m tired of it, I want us to actually be together” he explained.
“But what will our parents say?” I replied. I thought he would look regretful or guilty, but he smiled.
“I don’t give a f**k” he chuckled.
“I want to be with you Elle” he added and I couldn’t help but blush.
“Okay”. Liam looked surprised at my answer.
“Really?”
“f**k it, I can’t hide it anymore either” I confessed and he leant over the table to kiss me. I giggled and said “does this mean I have to move my stuff into your room?”. He looked amused and replied “if you want to share a bed with me, then yes”.
