My phone started ringing and I looked at the screen. ‘Annie’. Great!

“Could you asked your brother instead, it’s just that I’m not sure what his plans were this week with his work schedule and I know he would want to spend time with you” I explained. I had to think up some sort of excuse to get her to ask Dan instead. If I agreed to it and Dan didn’t want her round then it would give him a reason to get angry again. I didn’t want that.

“Yeah sure, I will call him now? She replied. 

“Cool, text me what he says” I demanded and she hung up. 

I managed to avoid Liam for the rest of the day which was a blessing. I had too much to worry about at the moment without his silly games. Dan was at home by the time I had got back. I walked into the kitchen and found a table filled with a prepared meal, candles and a glass of wine.

“I have been so snappy and horrible to you over the past week and I wanted to make it up to you. “Sounds perfect”.

I stood in the doorway of the bathroom, admiring the candles that were lit around the rim of the bath. The tub was filled with bubbly warm water and there was a glass of wine on the side.
