Chapter 2: Discovering Common Ground

522 Words
As Zenki and Rowie continued their adventure-filled journey, they began to discover common interests and shared passions. Zenki, once dismissive of anything beyond books, found himself captivated by the beauty of nature during their hikes. Rowie, in turn, developed an appreciation for literature, guided by Zenki's passionate explanations of his favorite novels. One day, as they strolled through a local park, Zenki stopped in front of a statue. It depicted a writer with a book in hand, lost in thought. He traced his fingers over the sculpture, a wistful expression on his face. "This reminds me of my favorite author," Zenki mused. "He once said, 'Books are a mirror; if an ape looks into it, an apostle is unlikely to look out.' It's fascinating how literature can shape our perception of the world." Rowie's eyes sparkled with interest. "Tell me more about this author and his works. I want to understand what captivates you so much." And so, Zenki began sharing his love for literature with Rowie. He introduced her to the worlds created by his favorite authors, discussing themes and characters with her. In return, Rowie shared her love for art, taking Zenki to galleries and showing him how colors and brush strokes could evoke emotions just like words on a page. As they delved deeper into each other's passions, Zenki and Rowie realized that they were more similar than they had initially thought. Their differences had served as a bridge, connecting their worlds and allowing them to grow together. "Moreover, Zenki and Rowie supported each other's personal growth and development. They recognized that growth often required stepping out of one's comfort zone and facing personal challenges. When one of them expressed a desire to try something new or pursue a goal, the other would be there as a cheerleader, offering encouragement and reminding them of their inherent abilities. They pushed each other to overcome obstacles, believing in one another's potential even when doubts arose. This unwavering support fostered a sense of trust and belief in themselves, enabling them to accomplish more than they ever thought possible." On the other day, Zenki and Rowie decided to go to the canteen together at their recess time. They shared their likely foods to each other and realized that they also have the same choices of food that they want to eat. "It just reminded me of my Mother, serving me this kind of food to me every morning before I go to school." Zenki said. "Haha, you have a lots to remember on some things do you?" Rowie replied with a smile. "But, why'd you said it? Is your Mother not serving you this kind of food anymore? Rowie added. Zenki suddenly stops eating and says, "My Mother is not on my side anymore, she died in an accident." Rowie began to have an uncomfortable expressions on her face and said, "I-I'm sorry for asking Zenki, I-I thought she was alright, I am so sorry and condolences to your Mother. May she rest in peace." Zenki looks to Rowie with a smile, "It is ok Rowie, I understand. Thanks!" -End of Episode 2...
